In May of 2021 my girlfriend at the time was very interested in puppets and puppet building. Since I didn’t have any characters in my collection that her voice was suited for, we decided to tackle the task of building matching Prairie Dawn replicas.

Michelle was quite at good doing the voice and the character, so this would be a wonderful opportunity for her to continue training and honing her puppeteering skills. Plus, she would learn how to build a puppet along the way.

Though the puppets themselves would be identical, we each chose our own individual materials for the dresses. I finished mine first in May of 2021, and Michelle used my replica to audition for a Jim Henson Company training program. Because I was going for a more “vintage” look, I chose the “choppy bangs” look for her wig; which is how she appeared early on before she was more “glamorized.”
