Character: Gonzo

Hand Type: Rod with poseable fingers

Builder credits: Terry Angus Puppets

Height: 23”

Notes: I enjoy having outfits made for this Gonzo. In addition to his famous maroon tuxedo, I created additional outfits which included a chicken-themed button-down shirt, cargo shorts and sandals, and a colorful gumball bowling shirt, jeans and slip-on sneakers.

His snout is hand-carved from a block of foam rubber and then painted.

His arms are removable from the body to better assist in dressing him in different wardrobe.

In the spring of 2017 I commissioned this 1:1 replica from the same builder of my Kermit and my Animal. His craftsmanship was the best I had ever seen. The rarity of a specific type of foam rubber that’s required for the creation of the snout caused a delay in its creation. But eventually a suitable quantity was found.

I built two different Gonzo replicas when I was 19; being fascinated with the idea of carving something out of foam rubber. The first was given to one of my daughters, and I still have the second one.
