Monday the 1st – HAPPY LABOR DAY! – Since it was Labor Day, my friend Christine and I just hung out around the house and relaxed. It was pretty hot out, so we stayed inside mostly in the air-conditioned comfort.  That night I ran her to the Amtrak station so she could catch the train back home to San Diego.

Tuesday the 2nd – HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHUCK McCANN! – My buddy Chuck McCann celebrated his 74th birthday today.  In the morning I went to Voice Trax West to do another session for the folks at Steak ‘N’ Shake. Afterwards I headed home to do some auditions in my home studio.  Later that night, my buddy Terry came over to do some small jobs around the house while I went to a Worship Council meeting at church.  When I got home I dropped some things off and headed over to Bob’s Big Boy for our usual Tuesday night meeting. Chuck McCann was there and we helped him celebrate his birthday. But Big Boy was closing down early to clean, so they kicked us out at 10:30!  On our way out we ran into Academy Award winning actor Adrien Brody. He’s a very nice guy, but was disappointed to hear that Bob’s was closing. We told him to head over to Jerry’s Famous Deli and get some soup. He said that was a good idea. Then Chuck and I headed over to Menchie’s, a new frozen yogurt place in Studio City.  It was a fun night!

Wednesday the 3rd – SUMMERTIME SLOW! – The industry is very slow right now, so there’s not really much going on. Happens every summer.  So I took advantage and just stayed at home in the cool and got some things done around the house.  That night I went to the meditational service at my church, and then grabbed some dinner. After a quick nap, I went out for a two mile jog.

Thursday the 4th – LUNCH WITH STEPHEN! – When I was a kid, two of the youth leaders were Dennis and Robbie. They were boyfriend and girlfriend at the time, but now they’re married and living in South Dakota. Their son Stephen lives here in L.A. and wanted to get together for lunch. I thought it was a great idea.  We met at Jerry’s Famous Deli in Studio City and had a fun time talking about his folks when they were young, and finding out what they’ve been up to lately.  After that I ran some errands. I stopped by the craft store and bought some more faux stone facing for my “monster wall” that I’m making for a display in Planet Wallywood.  Then I stopped by my mailbox and picked up some mail, and then I dropped by the local market to pick up some more Cokes in a glass bottle. I love to end the day (especially a hot day) by drinking an ice cold Coke in a glass bottle!

Friday the 5th – HOT FRIDAY! – It was very warm (I’m SO over summer and am waiting for fall!) so after I did an audition at Voicecasters in Burbank, I stopped by the post office to mail off some autographed photos.  But all I wanted to do was go home and relax. So I did. Later that night my pal Fred Westbrook met me for dinner at my corner cafe. I walked Sassie down and we all had a great dinner.  I got out for a two mile jog later that night though, once it cooled down a little.

Saturday the 6th – PIZZA, PUDDING, POPCORN, PEPSI! – My maids stopped by in the afternoon to give Planet Wallywood a much-needed cleaning. Then I picked up my pal GloZell to head over to Fred Westbrook’s house. We hung out in the pool and chatted until late afternoon. That night I studied a new DVD burning program I got on my computer. It’s very difficult though, and only gave me limited results.  I’m not sure if I’m not doing it right, or if the program is bad. But I’ll keep working with it in hopes of getting it nailed.  As it got later, I ordered a Domino’s pizza, and enjoyed pizza, pudding, popcorn and Pepsi while watching a “Charlie’s Angels” season 3 episode on DVD.

Sunday the 7th – WORK, WORSHIP, WORK! – My pal Terry came back over to fix a few more things around the house, and then my pals Greg and Stephen came over to help Terry and I load my old big screen TV on his truck.  Not sure if you remember the problem I had with my big screen Mitsubishi TV back in early July, but suffice to say it’s toast. So Terry’s going to haul it away.  After we finished that we all went to evening church. Then I walked Sassie down to the corner cafe and we all enjoyed dinner.  After that it was back home and back to work to finish up some more stuff around the house. With the industry slow-down that usually happens this time of year, it’s good to get these things done before it gets too busy again.

And how was YOUR week??!!
