Monday the 16th – WHEW! – The previous weekend’s numerous church activities wore me out. I had to get up early several mornings in a row, so today I just decided to lay around and be lazy. I toyed with the idea of having dinner with a bunch of friends that night, but it didn’t work out so again, I just enjoyed being around the house and petting Sassie and Spook.

Tuesday the 17th – HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY! – I had lunch planned with two of my agents, but one of them called in sick, so I just laid around the house and continued to relax. I did go to my hair stylist’s later in the afternoon and got a trim and a color, but afterwards I went home and took a nice dip in the jacuzzi. It was so relaxing I laid my head back on the edge and literally nodded off! I woke up and the timer had stopped the jets, so I was sitting in still, hot water. Still, it was kind of nice. I went inside to do some auditions and turn in.

Wednesday the 18th – YA JUST CAN’T GET GOOD SERVICE THESE DAYS! –I did a voice session for “Bleach” just before lunchtime, and I offered to buy lunch for the director and audio engineer at the local Round Table Pizza. They have a great buffet, and I’ve visited there often. But when we got there the lettuce in the salad bar was brown and slimy looking. We asked if they could bring out some fresh lettuce and the manager mumbled and offered excuses why they couldn’t. He also said they were out of spinach. So I asked for a refund. He reluctantly gave it to me, but also argued with me that “no one else has complained.” I told him it didn’t matter, the lettuce was brown and I wasn’t eating it. So we went next door and spent our money at Quizno’s. We were talking about how, especially in this day and age, that somebody who clearly needed as much business as possible, could be so belligerent! I wouldn’t be surprised if I don’t see him working there next time. (If there IS a next time!) After lunch I went to Best Buy to look for new DVDs and CDs, then to the bank to deposit some money, stopped by It’s a Wrap to see what new clothes they had (I found nothing) and then a stop by the post office to mail off some autographed photos. I also took my cat Spook to the vet. He had been peeing on several things around the house, and he had problems with urine crystals before. So I wanted to be safe and have him checked again. He was NOT happy! Particularly with the whole “temperature taking” thing! He struggled and fought and it was all I could do to hold him for the vet tech. They check him and he didn’t have crystals. So, that meant he was just peeing on stuff to be nasty. So we’re going to have a little talk, me and Spook. And I’m going to do it in the voice of Strother Martin from “Cool Hand Luke”…what we have here…is a failure to communicate! The room where he’s done most of the damage is being closed off to his access. That night I went to evening church, and then met with my production partner Ken Dennis about our short film “Livin’ On a Prayer.” The time has come to make some hard decisions about our next move. After that, Fred Westbrook and Chuck McCann joined us at DuPar’s for awhile. By the way, today was Sassie’s 10th birthday!!

Thursday the 19th – BUSY SIGNAL HELL! – Well, today was the day for everyone to call at 9am sharp to book their rooms for this year’s San Diego Comic Con. We had 5 people on our team calling. I didn’t get through right away, but our friend Ben did. He booked us rooms at a hotel that was close to the convention center. Then Scott Sebring, my buddy and webmaster, was successful in booking a room for he and his wife Vickie at the hotel right next door to the convention center. He did it on-line. Later his wife had luck getting rooms, and after about 50 minutes of listening to busy signals I finally got through and got some rooms that were near the convention center, but not next door. Then after the dust settled, the travel company started calling us back with the double bookings and asked us which rooms we wanted to keep and which we wanted to give up. So we did alright I suppose all in all. But it sure is a mess, and there HAS to be a better way to do it! I fully anticipated going back to bed for awhile, but I was so wired I stayed up and did some stuff around the house. Then I did another voice session for “The Avengers” cartoon at Studiopolis Burbank. After that I had to rush home and meet with a notary who was having me sign all my new loan docs for my re-fi. WHEW! What a day! By the end of the day I was exhausted!

Friday the 20th – SESSIONS, SASSIE AND SHOOTING! – I had a session in the morning for the cartoon “Gormiti,” and afterwards I went shooting at the Firing Line in Burbank. I brought my two Walther PPKs, but I also rented a .45 automatic model 1911. Really nice piece! I’m thinking it’s going to be my next purchase. I got home to walk Sassie and spend some time with her. Then I took off for Silverlake and a studio there where I had done commercials for The Underwear Affair, a marathon in Canada supporting the fight against cancers below the waist. Participants are invited to run the marathon in underwear of their choice. Lots of fun. This time I was doing the voice session for the TV ads. It was a lot of fun. I got home, had a quick bite to eat, and then took a nap. I got up later that night and decided I was going to start my “3 for 3” program. Basically, 3 miles a night, 3 nights a week. I got out and jogged (my first time in about 5 months!) and it felt really good. I took it very easy to start. But into my third mile, there was a pain just to the left of my left kneecap. It was my old Beetlejuice injury (I worked as Beetlejuice in the live stage show at Universal Studios Hollywood from 1994 to 1998). So I walked a little ways to try and walk it off and then started running again. Nope. My knee was having none of it. So I walked the rest of the way. But when I got home I felt an enormous sense of accomplishment!

Saturday the 21st – OOOOOWWWWWW! – I got out of bed and couldn’t believe how much my left knee hurt! WOW! My thigh muscles were also very sore as well. But, part of the program. I hobbled downstairs to walk Sassie. It’s also my daughter Lacey’s birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY LACEY BEAR!) and my niece Julia’s birthday too (HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIA!) My maids showed up to clean Planet Wallywood, and my pal Terry came over to do some work in my garage. But just as I was about to go eat with my friend Sara, Terry found an electrical receptacle that was broken. It was too late to go to the local hardware store, so he had to go to the Home Depot that was miles away! We got back from dinner and some friends had come by for movie night. We went upstairs, put in some old Tom Jones TV shows on DVD (hilarious!) and then watched “Office Space.” But halfway in the middle of the movie BOOM! The power went out. Terry was still downstairs trying to wire in the new receptacle and something went wrong. So Terry decided he was going to give it a try tomorrow instead, and went home. I had power throughout the majority of the house, but a few outlets were dead. After the movie a few of us met up with Chuck McCann at DuPar’s for some late night pie.

Sunday the 22nd – POWER’S BACK ON! – While I slept, Terry came over and wired everything up so I had all of my power back. Then I got ready and went to evening church. I was eldering at the later service so I just stayed around for awhile until the other service started. After the service, I met Sara for dinner at Miceli’s in Universal City. I ran into Brad and Marcie, they manage talent for autograph shows, and soon Chuck and Betty McCann arrived to keep us company. Then we went to DuPar’s to have some pie for dessert. I got home and fed and walked Sassie, and prepared for the new week.

And how was YOUR week??!!
