Since I’m now in the middle of watching “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” Season 3, I have not been able to get this snappy theme song out of my mind! And the third season theme has a groovy sax break in it (not heard in this version.) But check out the show on Netflix, or buy the entire set on Amazon!

Monday the 3rd – THE NEW YEAR IS UNDERWAY! – Back at it! It felt good to shake off those holiday lazies and get back into the swing of things. Unfortunately, when I woke up I discovered that Sassie had diarrhea…all over my living room carpet. So, I immediately called my friends at Chem Dry and they sent somebody out within the hour to clean it up. THANKS GUYS! I also made the unfortunate discovery that my garage door opener had finally given up the ghost. Luckily a garage door company was able to come out before I had to get to work at “The Tonight Show.” Geez…happy new year indeed. What an awful start to a new year. But we got everything taken care of. My pal Chris came over to sit with the garage guy and the carpet guys while I was away doing “TTS,” and when I came back I found that they all had just left. (Boy! It sure is great being back to work at “TTS!”) The new door worked great, the carpet looked terrific and life was back to normal. I took Chris and his girlfriend Colleen to Panera for dinner afterwards to thank them for the help.

Tuesday the 4th – NOBODY TAKES PRIDE IN THEIR WORK ANYMORE I GUESS! – As attentive and responsive as the garage door guy and the carpet guys were on Monday, the other shoe dropped today. I ordered some DVDs on-line and they hadn’t shown up yet. I called their customer service number and they gave me a tracking number. I went to the USPS website and sure enough, they had been delivered to my mailing address. But I called the mailbox place and they said they never received them. So I had to have the USPS initiate an investigation to see what happened to them. Nobody seemed to know anything! Then a mannequin I bought on eBay showed up, but the company sent me the wrong one. It was similar, but not the exact one I had ordered. So between the DVD company, the USPS, my mailbox place and now the mannequin place, I had spent nearly two hours on the phone trying to resolve all this craziness. Apparently this company doesn’t know what it sells. I had to send photos of the one I received, but their e-mail wouldn’t take photos, so I had to keep calling them back to get alternate addresses to send the photos. When they finally got them they said, “We don’t sell that mannequin.” And I asked, “Then why the hell did I receive it from you and not the one I ordered?” It was a huge mix-up. I also spent some quality time on the phone with my friend Reed and that was a much more pleasant experience. I also felt like my sinus infection wasn’t improving as much as I had hoped, so I called my ENT Dr. again and he issued me another prescription that may help speed the recovery. I went to the taping of “TTS” (boy it’s good to be back!) and then went to pick up some office supplies for the new year…a box to hold my tax receipts for 2011, a new calendar, etc. Then I picked up my prescription at the pharmacy and got started on those meds.

Wednesday the 5th – IS IT THE WEEKEND YET?! –I went to Voice Trax West shortly after noon to do a few more TV spots for HH Gregg, then I drove over to my pal Bodie’s shop to see how my Gran Torino was doing. It got new shoes and pads and new shocks. They also wired in my new battery tray, and mounted my new license plates! But it wasn’t quite ready for pick-up yet, so I arranged to get a ride Thursday morning to pick her up and drive her to the “Avengers” recording session. I drove over to “TTS” for the taping, and then met my pal Edi for Mexican food at Ernie’s in Studio City. (Did I mention how great it is to be back to work at “TTS?”)

Thursday the 6th – OOPS! NO TORINO! – Even though my assistant Sara picked me up and took me to Bodie’s to get my Torino, when we got there it still wasn’t ready. They were having trouble starting it for some reason. Apparently when they were doing some work, something got jarred loose so they needed to investigate and keep it a few days longer. Rats! Oh well, it’s got to get fixed properly! I had Sara run me over to Studiopolis Burbank to do an ADR (Additional Dialogue Recording) session for “Avengers.” Luckily I only had a few loops to do, so Sara could just hang out and wait for me. She had a nice conversation with actress Lacey Chabert. Last I had seen Lacey was back in the late 90’s (she was only about 14 then) when we were both working on “Family Guy.” For those of you keeping score, Lacey was the original voice for Meg on the show. All grown up now, Lacey’s still just as pleasant as she always was. It was also great to see my pal Paul Dini, who almost single-handedly reinvented the Batman franchise with the animated series back in the early 90’s. We talked for awhile and then I headed out to the Coral Cafe with Sara for lunch. I got home, grabbed my car and went to “TTS” for the taping That night I figured some ZZZZZs were in my future, so I grabbed a nice nap.

Friday the 7th – WHEW! WHAT A WEEK! – The hotline in my bedroom rang. It was my agent asking if I could be at NBC at 1 for a voice-over. I hightailed it over to the studio and did a fun VO. Then I met my friend Brittney Powell for lunch. But just as we were finishing up, I got a bunch of calls from “TTS” asking that I hurry back for an alteration of the VO I had just cut. Unfortunately there was a HUGE wreck on the main street that I needed to take to get to NBC, so I had to take the roundabout way, which put me a few minutes behind. But I got there in time, cut the VO additions and got all set for the taping. Because I got called in early, I had to reschedule my chiropractor appointment (which was supposed to be BEFORE the taping) to after the taping. I got my adjustment, then headed home to rest some more. I was really intent on trying to beat the remainder of this sinus infection, but it wasn’t going away easily!

Saturday the 8th – HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELVIS!! – A ha! I got a call from the USPS telling me that my DVD package had INDEED been delivered to my mailbox. They even sent my proof of the signature. So I took it to my mailbox and confronted the guy there. He acknowledged that it was his signature and dug around to find the missing package. I wasn’t going to leave until he found it. But he did! Strangely enough, my phone number was right on the airbill, but apparently nobody there thought that maybe they should call me to tell me it was there. DUH! Sara was at my house with my maids as they were cleaning up, and I headed down to Santa Monica to see my regular doctor about this irritating sinus infection. He looked me over and said I was definitely on the mend, but he gave me some nose spray to help speed the drainage process and relieve the pressure in my head. I had intended to go by Bodie’s today to get the Torino, but still no go. He said some bad wiring was jarred loose by all the work they had done and was shorting stuff out. So they’re replacing the solenoid, some wiring and an ignition switch. WILL THIS EVER END? (My second and better Torino will be leaving Connecticut on Monday and will be here by January 19th! Then I can sell this one off and be done with it and all its problems!) The car looks great, but if it doesn’t run, what’s the use? I headed over to Laser Blazer and was surprised to find “Magic” starring Anthony Hopkins on Blu Ray. I snagged it right away, as it’s a great movie. Then I went to It’s a Wrap and bought 8 black shawl collar tux jackets! The price was irresistible! I got over to Bob’s Big Boy in time to meet my friend Kelly for lunch. I hadn’t seen her in awhile and it was great to catch up. But on the way there my hair stylist called and said she could squeeze me in for a cut and color at 5. So we had to cut lunch short so I could head over there. After it was over, I got home and got the place arranged for movie night. We watched “Forbidden Planet” with the late Leslie Nielsen and the late Anne Francis. It was great to see it in Blu Ray!

Sunday the 9th – FEELING BETTER! – When I got up around noon to walk Sassie I noticed that I was indeed starting to feel better. But not completely healed yet. I didn’t take any chances and went right back to bed. I got up in time for evening church, then afterwards met a bunch of friends for a great meal at Jerry’s Famous Deli in Studio City! We talked into mid-evening, and when I got home I had about 10 auditions to record in my home studio and send to my agent for Monday morning’s delivery. I also did some things around the house and got ready for the new week. It was looking like another busy one!

And how was YOUR week???!!!
