Monday the 13th – MONDAY MONDAY! – It was nice after the busy Easter Sunday to have a day of rest. I ran and got some food for my dog Sassie, but other than that I didn’t do much else. Just relaxed and made some phone calls.

Tuesday the 14th – ROOT CANAL PART 2! – This was the worst of the visits to my dentist for my root canal (my SECOND in three months!). He said a crack in my tooth (my #14) allowed junk to get to the root and the nerve. I asked him if I could have prevented it at all and he said no. It was just age. That tooth was one of the first permanent teeth that I got, so they just break down after awhile. But why are they all breaking down at the same time? UGH! The week before my dentist did some work (about an hour and a half of me sitting in the chair) but he had to do the majority of the root canal today. I was in the chair for THREE HOURS! UGH AGAIN! It was awful. I didn’t feel any pain, I was just getting antsy. They took all the impressions they needed, so I’ll go back next week and get the crown on. Afterwards, I was ready to go have some fun. So I went to Martin B. Rettig in Culver City and bought a new Smith and Wesson .45 automatic model 1911. I had shot one like it at the range about a month ago and really liked it. So I figured I’d get one for myself. It will be a nice companion to my two Walther PPKs. I filled out the paperwork, paid a down payment, and I’ll pick it up in 10 days. I think I’ll keep this one in my car in case of a breakdown on the freeway or something. Carrying a gun in you car IS legal, as long as your ammo isn’t with it. If you carry it in your trunk in a locked case, you can take it anywhere you want. Keep your ammo in the glove compartment though. The guy behind the counter said that they were running low on stock, and most guns were sold out. In fact, I didn’t even really get the model I wanted from the maker I wanted in the color I wanted, but I didn’t want to be picky. Besides, the great thing about guns is, you can always trade up later for what you want. After that I stopped by Laser Blazer but didn’t find any DVDs I needed. I also went to It’s a Wrap and bought a few clothing items. By the time I got home my jaw was sore and I was tired. So I took a prescribed painkiller and took a nap. That night I got up and did some auditions in my home studio and e-mailed them to my agents.

Wedneday the 15th – TAX DAY! – I was enjoying listening to the coverage of all the tea parties going on around the country. Later that day I went to Studiopolis Burbank to do a new voice for the “Blue Dragon” cartoon. I’m doing the voice of Mikhail, a supreme being who teaches one of the other characters how to fight. I did that for a few hours, then went home to grab a bite and feed my cat Spooky. That evening my friend Alex Zsolt, who does a piano ministry all around the country, needed to practice up. So we went over to Chuck McCann’s house so Alex could practice his numbers on their grand piano. After he was done, we all went to Jerry’s Famous Deli and ate a delicious dinner. We laughed so hard our throats hurt. My friends Kristy and Sara joined us as well and we all had a smashing time!

Thursday the 16th – WOW! – Remember last week when I said this industry is so odd, that one week you’ll be smokin’ busy, and the next there will be absolutely nothing? Well, my vacation was OVER! Early in the morning I went to Technicolor in Burbank to do some more voices for an alien character I’m doing in the new Ratchet and Clank videogame. It’s always a great time working with those guys who make that game. When I was finished, I headed home to grab some things and head over the hill to the “Family Guy” studios. I did a few lines as my character Barnaby for another “Star Wars” parody they’re doing. FUNNY! Then I took the long drive to Mattel in El Segundo to record some voice tracks for a new hand-held game. I can’t tell you much about it, but I can tell you that I did virtually 100 voices for it. WHAT FUN! I managed to get back over the hill to Burbank in time to audition for a radio commercial there. By the time I got home I collapsed on my couch! Whew!

Friday the 17th – HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARA! – My niece Sara’s birthday was today, and I phoned and left a birthday message for her on her cell phone. In the morning I did another session for “Gormiti” at Studiopolis Burbank. Then I drove back to Santa Monica again for a session at POP. The game is called ‘Brutal Legend’ and it’s a Jack Black project. Tim the writer was an awesome guy, and Khris the casting director is a peach! What fun! The character I’m doing is Sparky, a guy who keeps getting zapped by electricity. Hard to describe, but you’ll have to see the game. After I was done I went downstairs at POP to sign my paperwork and I saw my buddy Rick who was recording tracks for the same game, but in a different studio. Rick plays Thor in “The Avengers” We have been off for a couple of weeks so it was good to see him again. I made the long drive back home, but while I was driving I got a call from composer Jeremy Rubilino. He wanted me to help him out on a test jingle he was recording, and he asked if I could do James Brown. I said sure, so we agreed to meet later that night to record. My pal and webmaster Scott and Vickie Sebring came by, as did my friend Sara, and we went to Fuddrucker’s to get a bite to eat. Then we hit the studio in Northridge and did the track. It turned out pretty good I think. I believe Jeremy was pleased. But it was a long day so I headed home. By the time I got to bed, I realized I had been up 21 straight hours! WHEW! Bring on Saturday!

Saturday the 18th – WALLY WASHIN’ WINDOWS! – My friend Terry came over to help me wash all the windows of my house. With the rain and wind, my windows were filthy! So Terry and I took off all the screens, hosed them down, and washed the inside and outside of the windows. They were looking pretty good! He had to get his truck and ladder over to make it up to the upper level. Then my maids showed up and we were tripping all over each other. It was a bit of a zoo, but we got it done. Then Sara and I went over to Fred Westbrook’s house to hang out by the pool for awhile. Later, Sara and I went over to my buddy Matt Weinhold’s house for an engagement party. They had lots of delicious food, and they ran an actual 16mm movie! Fun! My friend Ginny called and joined up with us as well. Then we went to meet up with Chuck McCann at DuPar’s for some pie.

Sunday the 19th – SWEET SUNDAY! – I slept all afternoon and got up in time for evening church. I had elder duty again. It was a great service (as always) and afterwards I met up with my friends Joe and Zandra (and their grandbaby Jamison) for dinner. Sara joined us at Little Toni’s too and we had a great meal. Just as we were pulling up at my house, Chuck McCann called and wanted to meet for pie. So we headed over to DuPar’s for pie. That night I did some auditions (Sara even helped out!) and I started my jogging program again and went out for 3 miles. I had started a program a month ago called a “3 for 3” program, where I would jog 3 miles a night, 3 nights a week. But I had to take a couple weeks off because my knees were giving me some trouble. Plus, with the dental stuff I was going through, I just didn’t feel up to it. But tonight, I’m back on schedule!

And how was YOUR week??!!
