While at an IHOP in Marina Del Rey last Sunday night, I heard some amazing old 80’s songs on the music system in the restaurant. I used to love this song, and when I heard it again at IHOP, I couldn’t get it out of my head for hours! Daryl Hall and John Oates with “Out of Touch!” “Malamutes, and drowsy dreams. Livin’ in the middle between the two extremes!” Rock lyrics don’t get much better than that!

Monday the 16th – AAAAAHHHHHH! After the previous week of non-stop craziness, i was thankful to be able to rest a bit and relax. I slept late today (first day in a long time) and it felt VERY good! The IVR project was down to only 1 day a week now, and that was welcome news! When I got up a bit for “The Tonight Show” was waiting in my inbox, so I recorded that and sent it over. It was a beautiful day so I decided to pump up the tires on my bike, fill my water bottle and bicycle into NBC. On the way home I saw make-up master Rick Baker walking in Toluca Lake. I said “Hi Rick!” and he waved back and smiled, though I’m sure he had not a clue who I was. But I’m sure he knew I was a fan. He seems like a very nice guy. Since I hadn’t biked in awhile I wanted to relax in the jacuzzi for awhile. After that I took a nap, then met up with my pal Brittney Powell, did some auditions and watched some DVDs. It started to rain, and the quiet, rainy night was a welcome addition to my relaxation regimen!

Tuesday the 17th – SASSIE’S NEW LIVING SPACE! – Once again I slept in. Once again there was a quick bit for “TTS” in my inbox, which I recorded and e-mailed in. The bit later aired that night and it looked and sounded great! It was still cloudy and rain was possible. After “TTS” I came home and napped on the couch. Then my pal Terry came over with some plastic and a big rug. We were going to redesign the living room to be Sassie’s new living quarters. Since she is having a difficult time walking, I figured it would be better to have her closer to the front door so she wouldn’t need to walk as far back and forth when she goes out to do her business. Laying down a large piece of plastic first, and then the rug over it, would ensure that she would still have a comfortable place to lay, but without the danger of an accident damaging my permanent carpet. If she has an accident that can’t be cleaned easily, we just throw out the rug and buy another. But at least the carpet underneath will be protected.

Wednesday the 18th – THOSE DARN ALLERGIES! – It was time to do the IVR session again and it went pretty well. I was liking the one-day-a-week schedule as I was getting pretty burned out on the three times a week schedule. I bought some spaghetti at the italian place downstairs and munched while I did the session. Very relaxed! I got home and got ready to see my chiropractor Dr. C. I was still having that sinus headache problem and I asked Dr. C why my breathing passages were open but I was still having headache pain. He said it’s possible to have sinus issues and still be able to breathe. I also talked to him about acupuncture and how it could help my allergies. Dr. C said he had it and it helped his allergies immensely. I’m going to definitely check it out! I went to “TTS” and taped the show. That night I enjoyed dinner with my friends Brittney, Edi and Sara.

Thursday the 19th – SINUSES SUCK! – I woke up early and headed to NBC to record another bit for “TTS.” Luckily I had time to get over to my ENT Dr. and get examined before the show started. The Dr. said my sinuses were definitely clogged due to infection brought on by infection. Yup…sinusitis! No wonder the right side of my head has been hurting. He said the right side was worse than the left and he prescribed me antibiotics. He said there’s a small drainage area that can get clogged and inflamed with allergy problems, and after all the problems I had with my allergies during my Palm Springs trip, I wasn’t surprised. I got a shot in the arm and I was on my way to tape “TTS.” But first a stop at Taco Bell! That night I went to CVS to get my prescription filled and while I waited I enjoyed dinner at Panera next door. I went home, did some MP3 auditions and sent them to my agent, and got ready for bed. The shot in my arm was STILL hurting! OW!

Friday the 20th – OWWWWW! – That shot was still hurting the next day! In fact, it didn’t start to subside until the end of the weekend! WOW! Strong stuff! I got to sleep in a bit, but my headache was already better. I hope this latest round of problems is over soon. I took care of some phone calls, e-mails and other business around the house. It was such a beautiful day I decided to bike to work again. We finished up “TTS” and then I headed home. I biked through Bob’s Big Boy in Toluca Lake and checked out all the vintage automobiles. Every Friday at Bob’s some of the local vintage car owners bring their cars over and park them in the parking lot to show them off. There were some beautiful pieces of metal there! I got home and walked Sass and my pal Amanda stopped by to say hi. Later that night I went to Barone’s for some delicious italian food with Sara, Amanda and Chuck McCann. When I got home I soaked in the jacuzzi and got the weekend started right!

Saturday the 21st – WONDERFUL WEEKEND! – I slept late, got up and took my Mustang to the local Ford dealer to get a little plastic panel replaced on my driver’s side door, and ate at Denny’s while I wanted for the service to be performed. Then I headed over to Fast Frame to pick up my framed art. I got a watercolor original sketch from Carroll Spinney, the puppeteer who performs Big Bird on ‘Sesame Street,” and an original sketch from my pal Ruben Procopio. He did a great black and white piece for a birthday gift! I got a call from my pal Dan Roebuck and we met up at It’s a Wrap. I got home in time for a quick nap before movie night. That evening we watched “Pinocchio” on Blu Ray (one of my favorite Disney films!) and “Gremlins” on Blu Ray.

Sunday the 22nd – A NEW HOPE! – I got up in the morning and waited for a holistic vet who was going to start Sassie on an acupuncture program. She arrived and started examining Sass. She said that it normally takes about 4 weeks of treatment to determine if she’s going to respond well to the treatment. I told her I was down for that and let’s get started. Sass did very well and laid there quietly while the doctor performed the acupuncture procedure. My friend Genta who does Reikki healing was there as well to observe. I have a good feeling that this will benefit Sassie in the long run. I went back to bed to grab a few more hours of sleep, then got up for evening church. That night I went to a hotel in Marina Del Rey to spend the night. I had a very early voice-over session on the following Monday morning in the Venice area. So instead of sitting in two hours of Monday morning traffic, I decided to stay down on the Westside and just have a 15 minute commute to the session. I grabbed dinner at IHOP while I was down there, and they had a satellite music channel playing overhead. This channel was playing some awesome 80’s tunes, and not the usual ones! These were pretty obscure 80’s hits from obscure 80’s artists. I was having a great time listening and trying to identify the song from my memory. After dinner I went back to the hotel and got settled in for some sleep before my early session on Monday.

And how was YOUR week??!!!
