For some reason, as I was heading out to the Gormiti wrap party on Saturday night, I had the song “Everybody Wants Some” by Van Halen in my head. I had two beautiful girls in my car, we had the top down and it was a beautiful summery kind of night. And since I was about 19, Van Halen music (David Lee Roth-era) meant summertime. Crank it up and see if you see visions of warm summer nights start gyrating in your head!

Monday the 22nd – WORK ON WALLYWOOD! – I went to Voice Trax West around noon for a quick session for HH Gregg, then I went to run some errands. The post office, my mailbox, the craft store to get some paint brushes, etc. My pal and contractor Terry came over to start working on some projects around Planet Wallywood. Meanwhile I took off for “The Tonight Show.” When I finished up the show I came back and started working on painting my Batman bust, sculpted by my buddy Chuck Williams. Terry continued working on the house while I painted. Here’s a photo of the finished bust. I love Chucks’ work!

Tuesday the 23rd – HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADRIANNA! – My niece Adrianna’s birthday is today and she’s now 11. She and my dog Sassie were born just a few days apart. Last week I said my niece Julia turned 5, but in fact she just turned 4. Time does fly! I drove over to Buzzy’s in Hollywood to do another couple of cartoons for ‘The Garfield Show’ on Cartoon Network. It’s always a blast! Mark brought a few VO students in to observe, and one of the student guests was someone I had met about 9 years ago! Her name is Patrice and she was the voice of Tony the Tiger’s daughter in the commercials in the 70’s. What a small world! It was a fun day doing Garfield cartoons again, but when I went to leave I found out that Martin Sheen’s car was blocking mine in! So as I was ready to pull out of the lot, Martin Sheen comes walking out of the studio and moves his car. When he parked I said, “Mr. Sheen I just saw you in an episode of Hawaii: Five-O!” He smiled and said, “You look far too intelligent to be watching shows like that.” I told him that it was great television with great acting and a great cast. By the time I finished my sentence, he was reaching his hand inside my car to shake my hand. What a great guy! I went home to walk Sassie and then went on to “The Tonight Show.” Another great day!

Wednesday the 24th – I GOT CROWNED! – I got up really early to get to the dentist and have my new crown put on my tooth. It went really well and I’m happy to have my new crown on. I was feeling pretty good so I went to the post office to mail some stuff, and then I drove to the bank to deposit some checks. I went to Voicecasters shortly after noon, which is just about when my Novocain was wearing off. Perfect timing! Pamela Anderson was on “The Tonight Show” today, and of all the guests on the show in the past 6 months that I’ve been working on the show, she was one I was interested in seeing in person. Normally I try to stay out of the way and just hang out in the audio bay during the show. But today I made sure to be in the hallway after the show was over to try and see Pamela walk by. I mean, she’s hot. So who wouldn’t? But when she walked by, the most amazing thing happened. She looked at me and didn’t look away. She kept looking at me. In fact, our eyes locked for over 3 seconds! It was the most amazing 3 seconds of my life! Pam! Did we have a moment? Did we make a connection? E-mail me right away and we’ll meet! Hey, a guy can dream, right? That night my friend Georgette and I went to evening church and did the meditational service.

Thursday the 25th – HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD! – Hollywood is strange. I’m having lunch with my new friend Patrice (I met her again accidentally at the Garfield recording session on Tuesday) and my pal Chuck McCann. Miley Cyrus walked into the restaurant and I mentioned it to Patrice. Apparently Patrice knows her from working with her on some behind-the-scenes footage she produced of one of Miley’s shows. So Patrice went over to say hi. Then I went over to say hi. I told her I was the announcer of “The Tonight Show” and that I would be seeing her in a coupe hours, as she was scheduled to be a guest that day. How weird?! What are the chances? But then Chuck McCann comes by to say hi to her and come to find out, he knows her “Hanna Montana” director Rich Correll very well! It really IS a very small world. I found her very pleasant and “together.” I was happy to be able to make that report to my nieces, since they love Miley and the “Hanna Montana” show. Miley seems very well adjusted for someone her age! I gave Patrice a tour of my house, and then went over to my friend Ruben’s house to check out a new sculpture he did. I made it over to “TTS” in time and did the show and had a great time. On the way home I stopped at the church to try on the Jesus costume for the upcoming Easter Walk. Christie, the youth minister, asked me to play Jesus this year, since the guy who had been doing it in previous years decided to retire. I told her I’d be glad to. The costume fit very well and I think it will be an amazing experience. The church youth will be walked through several recreations of scenes from the last few days of Jesus’ life. I’m looking forward to it on Easter morning. That evening I caught a nap, but when I awoke I noticed something different. My two ducks that had been a constant sight in our swimming pool in the past few weeks, were nowhere to be found. I was hoping they were alright. I told myself that they must’ve built a nest somewhere and they’re getting ready for their new family. But still it was a little sad, since feeding them pieces of bread had become a daily ritual with me.

Friday the 26th – HOW WEIRD IS THIS?! – So I go for years without ever seeing Miley Cyrus, and I see her three times in two days. On my way to see my Chiropractor, I saw her and her boyfriend riding their bikes down the street. What are the chances?! My friend Edi is a good friend of her family, and Edi said she also saw her riding around. I mean really…when you’re that famous…can you ride bikes on the street in peace? I guess so. When I got to my Chiropractor’s office I decided to play a joke on him. When you go into the office, the first thing you’re given is a form to fill out to state what level of pain you’re in and where you’re hurting. There’s a small diagram of a man’s body from all angles, front, back side, etc. The idea is that you circle the area where you’re experiencing pain, and the Dr. will know what to do. I circled the groin area on the illustration of the guy. The gal at the front desk giggled and I said, “I just want to see if he’s paying attention.” Sure enough. When I got in to see the Dr., he looked at my form and said with a big smile, “I’m not adjusting that!” We had a good laugh, and then he proceeded to crunch me up one side and down the other. But it felt very good. Then I was on my way to “TTS.” It was a great finish to a great week, so I went home to grab a nap. That night I stayed up all night, like I like to do every Friday night, just doing stuff around the house, eating, watching DVDs of old TV shows, and goofing around with the pets.

Saturday the 27th – GOODBYE GORMITI! – Sara and I grabbed some sandwiches and headed to my friend Fred’s house to hang out by his pool. The weather was beautiful this entire week, so the old routine of going to Fred’s on Saturday was back in almost-full swing. Chuck McCann came by as well and we all had a lot of laughs. I got home and started getting ready for the wrap party for the cartoon called “Gormiti” that I had been working on for awhile. We did a total of 65 episodes and it was a lot of fun. Patrice came by to go along, as did Sara. We popped the top in my car and drove to the grocery store to pick up food and drinks for the party. We had a great time chatting with all of the folks there and we didn’t’ end up leaving until around midnight or so. Then we sped off to meet Chuck McCann at DuPar’s for some pie. What a great night!

Sunday the 28th – AAAAAAHHHHH! – As usual with my Sundays, I slept really late into the afternoon. Then I put on some shorts and a shirt and headed over to evening church. That evening I was doing a few things and getting ready for another nap. Out my back window I heard the quacking of a duck! So, like an idiot, I leaned out and did a quack sound. I used to do that when the ducks were in my pool, and SURE ENOUGH! They would stop what they were doing and swim over to where I was to get some bread! In essence, I had them trained somewhat. I laid down in my bed and opened up the window as wide as it would go. Not only was the weather PERFECT, but the big, shiny full moon was beaming directly into my window. I laid on my side and stared at the moon for a few minutes, when suddenly, something large flew across my view of the full moon. I thought, WHAT WAS THAT!? A BAT?! But soon I heard a splash and heard quacking noises. My duck was back! At least one of them. Yup! The male duck was back in my pool. Since the female has been missing from the neighborhood I’m assuming that she’s on a nest somewhere. But I grabbed some bread and headed downstairs to feed him. It was great to feed the duck by the bright moonlight. It was one of those “great-to-be-alive” moments. After my nap, I got up and did some auditions, wrote Wally’s Week, and made a pizza and watched DVDs of old TV shows in bed with my cat and dog. Earlier in the week when we were doing “Garfield,” one of Jon’s lines was, ” By the time I finish my shower the lasagna will be ready, and we can eat dinner as we watch TV.” That line is so close to the reality of my life, that it made me laugh on a whole other level. Because that’s exactly what I do, I put in a pizza, take a shower, and then eat with Sassie and Spook on the bed while I watch TV. I have turned into Jon Arbuckle for real!

And how was YOUR week??!!
