Monday the 6th – DAY OF REST! – I didn’t do a bloody thing all day (as the famous McCartney song says). I just laid around and did some things around the house. I did some auditions at night, and had dinner with my pal Sara.

Tuesday the 7th – LOTTA LANDSCAPE! – I covered a lot of land this day. First I went to an audition at Voicecasters in Burbank, then went to west LA to have lunch with my commercial agents at a place called Carmine’s. I hardly ever go into the agency office any more since I do most all my auditions in my house studio. It was good catching up with them. Then I went to have a tooth looked at at my dentist’s in West LA. He took an x-ray and sure enough, INFECTION! I had been suffering discomfort for awhile, but this confirmed it. He said I would need A ROOT CANAL! So I told him to go ahead and do it. I had to get this over with. Geez…I don’t have any tooth problems for all my life, and now I get TWO root canals in one year!? My dentist said that the tooth had a crack in it, and that’s most likely how the infection got in. So he did phase 1 of the root canal, and put me on antibiotics to get rid of the infection before the next phase. I went across the street afterwards to get some prescriptions, and then I headed home. Boy! I’m ready for all this dental stuff to be over with!

Wednesday the 8th – MORE AUDITIONS & BLEACH! – I auditioned at the Studiopolis Annex for a new cartoon, and then went over to Voicecasters to audition for another project there. When I was finished, I went over to Studiopolis Burbank and did a few hours of voice tracks for “Bleach.” I went over to It’s a Wrap afterwards but didn’t find anything. I got home in time to meet up with my pals Bruce Kulick and Sara for a delicous dinner at the Studio Cafe.

Thursday the 9th – ANOTHER DAY OF RELAXATION! – This industry is so up and down, that some weeks you’ll be completely slammed, and other weeks will come around where you have LOTS of time on your hands. I learned a long time ago not to fret about this, and just roll with the flow. I relax and enjoy the time off knowing that the weeks will come where I’ll be begging to come up for air. It’s one of the things you kind of have to get used to in this business. So my friend Alex from Michigan came by. He has a piano ministry and is usually on the west coast over Easter doing concerts. When he’s in the LA area he always crashes at Planet Wallywood. Alex and I hung out for awhile, I did some auditions and then I hit the hay. I had hurt my heel (I think I stepped on something small and sharp like a piece of glass or metal) so I was taking the week off from running. I’ll get back to it after my heel feels better.

Friday the 10th – HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY! – In the mid afternoon my friend Ginny came by and we went to grab a bite to eat at Panera in Studio City. Then we hit Von’s grocery store to buy some supplies for the weekend. She was killing time before her voice-over class began, but come to find out it got cancelled because her teacher got sick. So she decided to accompany me to Good Friday services at my church. First we went to the prayer vigil for about a half hour, and then went to the Good Friday evening service. After that we grabbed dinner. She went home before my pal Alex came back from working on his new album.

Saturday the 11th – SARA’S SEARCH AND SEIZURE – I picked up Sara and we went over to Fred Westbrook’s for an afternoon by the pool. It’s become a fun way to spend Saturday afternoons. Then we were on a mission to find Diet Rite Tangerine soda…my new obsession. It’s by far the best tasting Diet soda ever! Not only does it not have any caffeine, but it doesn’t have any aspartame, which I’ve sworn off because it’s poison. Since I quit using aspartame products, I’ve been feeling SO much better! It’s amazing. I used to have regular aches in my legs, but since I’ve quit aspartame (aka Nutra Sweet) they’ve gone away. We finally found it at an Albertson’s (after hitting two other markets) when one of the clerks went in the back room and brought out three 12 packs. Success! I barely got home in time to meet up with my pal James who was coming over for movie night. Ginny eventually came over and all four of us decided to get out of the house and go have some fun and a few area clubs. When we got done, the Sara was starving. So we went to DuPar’s and had a late night snack. What a great evening!

Sunday the 12th – HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZAK AND HAPPY EASTER! – Not only was it Easter, but it was my son’s birthday. I sent him a latenight text message the night before knowing that it had just turned midnight. I slept fairly late, but this Easter Sunday would be a busy one! I committed to doing Elder services at two of the evening services, and had committed to getting baptized at the final service! As I was getting ready, I heard something on the metal door on the front of my house. At first it sound like Spook when he gets agitated by another cat and starts clawing his way up the metal door. But Spook was nowhere to be found. I ran down and saw a SQUIRREL climbing up my front door! I feed them nuts on a regular basis, the the female squirrel (by far the most outgoing one of the bunch) was crawling up my door to let me know she was ready for lunch. I quickly snapped a picture, but it didn’t turn out great. But you get the idea. The 4pm service is a Spanish service, and though I know NO Spanish, an elder must be present. So I’m happy to sit there and enjoy the spirit of the service, and do my duty. I had a half hour to get ready for the next service which I was also performing Elder duties at. (Our church has 6 services on Easter so a lot of the elders were booked up!) The 5:30 service went very well, and then I headed home to grab my baptism clothes. I wore shorts and a loose shirt and brought a change of clothes in a gym bag. Though I had been baptized as a baby, our church’s belief is all about “conscious choice” when it comes to baptism. Add this to the fact that I started going to this church on Easter in 2004, so this was my 5 year anniversary. It was all falling in line, so I decided to go ahead and do it. I’m glad I did. My pal GloZell was there filming the whole thing (it’ll probably end up on YouTube!) and it was a lot of fun. Pastor Bob said that he had added a small amount of water from the Jordan River to the mix! When he was in Israel a few years ago, he brought back a bottle of water from the Jordan (back when you could actually take liquids on an airplane) and now he adds a bit to the water for baptisms. My friend Tracy showed up right at the end and gifted me with a lovely cross necklace that looks like it was made out of onyx and silver. Black and silver, my favorite color combination! Pretty cool! After the service, I met up with Sara and Chuck McCann for dinner at Little Toni’s! What a week!!

And how was YOUR week??!!
