Monday the 2nd – TOTAL EXHAUSTION! – I was literally wiped out from the previous weekend’s activities at the WonderCon in San Francisco. Luckily I got to sleep in, but my pal Sara (who wore the stunning Slave Leia costume) had to work early. I felt for her. I did some auditions in the afternoon and paid some bills. But something wasn’t feeling right…

Tuesday the 3rd – UH OH! – I was starting to feel sick. So I got my Zicam and squirted it up my nose with fury! I managed to go run some errands and pick up a garbage can, my jeans at the tailor (they were being repaired), some more food for Sassie, and a CD book that holds about 200 discs. I did an audition at Kalmenson and Kalmenson for McDonald’s, hit the cleaners to pick up a comforter that I had left there since last July, and headed home. That night I met with my pal Bruce Kulick for dinner and Sara came long. She was still really tired from the weekend as well, but “happy tired.” Lots of great adventures and stories. I went to bed fairly early and took some medicine in hopes that I would feel better.

Wednesday the 4th – EVERY VO ARTIST’S WORST NIGHTMARE! – Laryngitis! Yup. I was sick. I woke up with no voice whatsoever. Worse yet. I had a session for Busch Gardens at Patches to do. I called my agent and he didn’t even recognize me. They said they wanted me to come to the session anyway and try it out. But when I got there and got on the mic, they realized it was futile. I originally thought it was one radio commercial, but it ended up being one radio commercial and about 10 tags. You get paid for each one of those. Because of this damned cold, I was missing out on a good deal of cash. They apologized, I apologized, but they had to get somebody else to do it. Crap! At that point I was cursing the foul recycled air on that United Airlines flight. I immediately called my doctor and got an appointment. But I had a few hours to kill before the appointment, so I killed some time at Laser Blazer and It’s a Wrap. Then, at the right time, I drove over to see him, got a shot, he checked my vocal chords, and prescribed me a cacophany (ca-COUGH-any…get it?) of medicines. I went to get them filled post haste. I immediately drugged up and went to bed. I HAD to get my voice back!!

Thursday the 5th – YET ANOTHER GIG MISSED! – Andrew at Voice Trax West had a small job for me, but after hearing me on the phone he realized I was in no shape to do it. Again…he needed to find a replacement. I was supposed to have an in-home physical to draw blood and urine for an insurance policy my dad was taking out on me, but because I was sick and drugged up, I called them and told them it wouldn’t be a good idea to do it on this particular day. I felt pretty good, but I had no voice. So I went to Office Depot and picked up some card stock and page protectors to work on my autograph books. I also ordered some prints of some of the shots from the past weekend at the local Long’s Drugs. But the rest of the night was miserable, as the cough was beginning to set in.

Friday the 6th – COMING BACK! – Luckily, my voice had returned enough that I could do an episode of “Gormiti” at Studiopolis Burbank. Come to find out, the director and one of the other actors also had been sick. So the smell of Hall’s Menthol drops permeated the studio. Between my scenes, I would leave the studio so my intermittent coughing wouldn’t ruin the other actor’s takes. We finished up and I was thankfully in pretty good condition. But the cough was starting to get to me. I headed home to meet up with my maids. But first a stop at Long’s Drugs to pick up the prints I ordered. It took my maids awhile to get there, which gave me lots of time to clean up Planet Wallywood’s display area. I hand cleaned my Spider-Man with a damp rag (dust gets on his costume and webbing and there’s no other way to get it off) as well as my light sabre collection and my talking Elvis. I was just finishing up when the maids arrived. My friend Terry had been busy working the past few days on building more storage in my garage for my empty toy boxes. My cousin Emilie and her new husband Jeff were supposed to be arriving around 6, but they called and said their plane was late getting out of Minneapolis. Nice to know I wasn’t the only one having airplane issues! It was welcome news since I needed to get a few hours of sleep before their arrival. I met them later that night at DuPar’s with a bunch of other friends. Then we loaded their stuff into Planet Wallywood. They were taking a cruise out of Long Beach on Sunday for their honeymoon, but would stay with me a few days before for a visit.

Saturday the 7th – ZZZZZZZZZ! – I told Jeff and Emile that they could do anything they wanted to, but like me, I think they ended up sleeping most of the day. They were fairly tired as well. That evening we got up and met some friends for dinner at Barone’s. Cher, Sara, Scott and Vickie Sebring, Jeff and Emile and I all enjoyed some delicous Italian food. Then we went to my house and enjoyed watching “Hancock” on DVD. What fun!

Sunday the 8th – BON VOYAGE! – Jeff and Em got up early to leave for Long Beach to catch their boat, and woke me before they left. I bid them farewell, then bid my pillow hello again. I slept for a few hours, then got up to go to Studiopolis’ Annex to help a friend do some ADR on her film. I walked back home and headed back to bed for a few hours of sleep before evening church. However, when I got up for evening church, I wasn’t feeling very well and figured I needed the rest. So I slept virtually all of Sunday evening. My voice still wasn’t back to full form and I was starting to worry, since I had a full week of sessions scheduled for the coming week!!! YIKES!

And how was (cough cough) YOUR week??!!
