RANDOM PIC OF THE WEEK

Friday night at Jerry’s Famous Deli with friends, my pal Brittney and I share a delicious strawberry shake!

I heard this song on the radio playing in a store and I just HAD to find out what it was! When I finally figured out what it was, I Googled it and also found out that it had a cool video. Very reminiscent of the “Bee Girl” in Blind Melon’s “No Rain.” Here’s Coldplay and“Paradise.” (Also, remember the show “The Banana Splits”? See if you can catch the reference to that show in this video!)

Monday the 17th – MARVELOUS MONDAY! – I got to sleep until noon, and then I got a call to be in to “The Tonight Show” at 2pm for some bits. Last week “Halloween” producer Irwin Yablans came to Planet Wallywood to sign something, and he mentioned that his granddaughter was interested in getting into voice-over. I told him to have her stop by sometime and I’d be happy to answer any questions she had. So today she came over with her brother, her grandma and her aunt. We talked about the business of voice-over and how she could break in. She’s already been taking classes, but I suggested she also learn an animation program in school so she could animate her own projects, like Seth MacFarlane. She loved that idea and was going to talk to her computer arts teacher about that. I sped off to NBC and did three bits, grabbed lunch at the NBC Commissary, then waited around a little while to tape the show. When we wrapped I got home and took Roxy for a walk with my pal Edi and her dog Bunny. Then I came back inside and did some work and finished up writing Wally’s Week. I grabbed a nap, then I was up all night doing work, auditions and watching another “Kojak” episode from the second season DVD set.

Tuesday the 18th – FED EX-CEDRIN HEADACHE! – I tried to sleep in a bit, but Roxy kept annoying me. She loves being on the bed and cuddling, but sometimes I’d rather catch a few more z’s. She was very restless. I got up and got a call from “TTS” asking me to be in at 1:30. I already had a lunch meeting scheduled for 1:00, so I called my friend Richard and rescheduled the lunch to 2:00 and moved it to the NBC Commissary. I finished the bits and met Richard at the gate to let him in for lunch. After lunch I headed into the studio to tape the show. My assistant Sara, meanwhile, took my cat Spooky into the groomer’s to get his nails trimmed. She also went to Fed Ex to pick up my repaired Walther PPK-S. They attempted to deliver it to my house the day before, but I wasn’t there. So she took the claim slip and went to the Fed Ex office to get it. But it wasn’t there! They said it was back out on the truck! I wasn’t comfortable with my gun gallivanting all over creation, so she had them call the delivery guy and meet her at my house! But in the time it took her to get back, the Fed Ex guy had stopped by my house again. Of course she wasn’t there. So when she got home she called Fed Ex and made the driver come back! What a zoo! On the way home I picked up my mail and got my new mannequin. I’m making up a very cool Michael Myers mannequin! But when I got it all set up I realized that it’s VERY tall! With the boots and mask on it’s about 6′ 5″ tall! So my effects guy Jim will have to “trim” his height a bit. When I got home I met up with Sergio so he could finish working on Andy/Elvis hair. It looked fantastic! I tried to take a nap, but Roxy was still very restless. I took her outside for a little run earlier, but it didn’t take enough of the edge off. So we took another nice long walk and then I came back in to do a ton of auditions. I went to the grocery store to get some more supplies, then Sara came over to watch a “Kojak” episode with me.

Wednesday the 19th – IT’S BAAAACK! – I got up around noon and had a surprise outside my bedroom door. Roxy’s diarrhea is back. Apparently she tried to come upstairs to let me know but couldn’t get in through the door. That’s probably why she had been so restless the previous day. I called Sara and had her take Roxy back to the vet while I cleaned up the mess and got ready for my dentist appointment. When my dentist appointment was over I sped off to the vet’s office to get instructions for her medicine and pay the tab. Apparently the last time she was sick I stopped her medication too soon. My fault. Not this time! I stopped home and dropped Roxy off, then went to the grocery store to get some special food items for her…roasted chicken, rice, cottage cheese, etc. Then my agent called and told me to be in early at “TTS” for some comedy bits. I dropped Sara off and headed to NBC. Unfortunately the bit was in Spanish, and my Spanish is awful. So they had another guy do it instead. I hung out until the show taped, then I met up with my French friend Cecille after the show. She was my guest at the show, but by the time I got out to the stage she had already been ushered out. I caught up with her outside and we went over to my chiropractor’s office for an appointment. Then we went to my house where Edi and her son Josh were there to do an audition in my home studio. After we finished it up, Edi, Josh, Sara, Cecille and I went to Paty’s to have a nice dinner on the patio. I had given Cecille a ride over in my Gran Torino, as she’s a huge Starsky & Hutch fan. Then I came home to do some work, walked Roxy and there was no more diarrhea! But needless to say, I’m keeping her on that medicine until the very last pill! I’m also putting her on some colloidal silver to make sure that bacterial thing is gone once and for all. I made dinner and watched another “Kojak.” Whew! What a day! I was bushed!

Thursday the 20th – RIATT RATING! – I got a call to record a bit for “TTS” at home. I finished it up and e-mailed it in, then made some calls. I did some more work around the house. It was a nice, easy day. I walked and fed Roxy, and gave her the pill she needed to take. I went to NBC to tape “TTS” and the musical guest was the great Bonnie Riatt! She’s fantastic! I got to see her in the hallway coming out of make-up. She looked fantastic, with her flaming red hair and her trademark blonde lock in the front! It’s not everyday you see a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer roaming the halls! I got home and fed Spook, then went to Jerry’s Famous Deli to meet with my friend Heather about pitching some shows to TV networks. She wanted to know any ideas I had for shows, so we spent about three hours discussing ideas. I got home and did some auditions and then head to bed. I had to be up early for a videogame session the next day.

Friday the 21st – SHUTTLE SCUTTLEBUTT! – I got up early to be at a session for a new “Naruto” videogame. Director Mary Elizabeth McGlynn was distracted though. The Space Shuttle Endeavour was due to fly over L.A. in just a few hours. We were keeping an eye glued to internet coverage of the shuttle’s location. Luckily we got finished with the session early enough so we could head outside to keep a look out. When I finished the session I headed to It’s a Wrap and bought a few items. I got in my Torino and headed west on Magnolia Blvd. Normally it’s not out of the ordinary to see people standing on the sidewalks with their camera-phones out, snapping a shot of the Torino as it drives by. If possible, I like to slow down a bit to make it easier for them. But I noticed a guy on the sidewalk with his camera-phone out, but he wasn’t pointing it at me. I thought that was weird. Then I saw a few more people with their phones out, but they weren’t pointing at me. I thought…”What the heck?” I looked in my side-view mirror and I saw something I will NEVER EVER see again! It was the Space Shuttle Endeavour on top of a 747 jet in the sky above me! I pulled a Starsky and yanked the car over to the side and parked it. I got out and stood by my car and watched it pass overhead. It was so close I felt like I could touch it if I jumped high enough! AMAZING! What a sight! The weather was getting very hot again, and I’m REALLY over the heat. I want it to be Fall. NOW! I got home and fed Roxy and gave her her pills. Then off I went to NBC. Apparently the shuttle had flown right over “TTS” stage, which was a thrill to those audience members who were waiting in line. I got a salad at the commissary and then waited around to tape the show. When we wrapped I got home and fed Spook and walked Roxy. Brittney and Edi came over, and we headed out to have dinner at Jerry’s Famous Deli with my friend Mike from Chicago and some friends of his. Thomas and Tim, two of my robot pals, also joined in. It was great fun! Since I didn’t have to be up early on Saturday for anything in particular, it was fun to stay up all night just goofing around, enjoying the evening. I didn’t get to bed until 5:30am Saturday morning! As I went to bed I realized I had been up 21 hours straight!

Saturday the 22nd – LAZY, HAZY, CRAZY SATURDAY! – I slept late, obviously, then walked and fed Roxy. It was another hot day and I just didn’t want to do anything but stay inside and relax. Later in the afternoon I went to Floyd’s Barbershop to get a touch up from my “colorist,” then I bicycled back home. It had started to cool off considerably, so I took Roxy outside to play some ball. I also got a call from my friend Carol (Roxy’s previous owner) that Lassie will be at my church’s Blessing of the Animals on Sunday September 30th! Fabulous! I cleaned up the house and got ready for movie night. We watched “Rocky Balboa” (great movie!) and one of my all-time favorite films “Dawn of the Dead,” the original from 1978. When my guests left I did some work around the house and made a Chef Boy Ar Dee pizza. YUM! I settled down for an episode of “Kojak” and hit the hay.

Sunday the 23rd – SIMPLE SUNDAY! – I got to sleep late again, and boy was it nice! I worked around the house for a bit, then walked Roxy over to the church for the evening service. Then my pal Amanda and Sara and I went to Barone’s to enjoy some delicious Italian food, and talk to Tommy the owner and manager for quite awhile. I’ve missed Barone’s. I just don’t get over there enough. When I got home I decided to make up some flyers for the upcoming Blessing of the Animals at church on September 30th. That way I can take them around town and post them places. When I finished the artwork I sent it over to my pal Joe at Studio Copy so he could print the flyers. I did some auditions and then headed to bed. I watched another episode of “Kojak” and got ready for a brand, new week.

And how was YOUR week??!!
