RANDOM PIC OF THE WEEK

Congratulations Pastor Bob on 50 years of service!

For some reason I’ve been humming Chuck Mangione’s 1979 hit “Give It All You Got.” It’s a great tune, but I’m not sure how it got stuck in my head.

Monday the 4th – GOOD TO BE BACK! – Even though I had a fabulous time in Las Vegas in the previous week, it sure was good to be back home. I slept until 3, got up and did some work, then met my friends Edi and Elliot Lurie at Chin Chin for dinner. I came home to nap for a bit, then I got up and did a bunch of auditions. I typed out Wally’s Week and then headed to bed. Unfortunately, the lovely croaking frog that lulled me to sleep the night before had moved on down the river. Too bad. I loved his singing.

Tuesday the 5th – TAX TIME TUESDAY! – Early in the afternoon I went to my accountant’s office to have my yearly tax meeting. Then I sped off to my box to get some packages, and on the way home I stopped by Jersey Mike’s to get a sandwich (a giant #13 on white, FYI). When I got home I did some work, took a short nap, and then got up later to do some auditions. It started raining like crazy. Since it was a gorgeous rainy night, I made myself a Chef Boyardee pizza-in-a-box and watched a few more “Addams Family” episodes from the second season DVD set. A perfect night!

Wednesday the 6th – RAINY DAY COMFORT FOOD! – At 2 I woke up and found out I had sold another item on eBay. I packed it up and headed out the door to meet my friend Edi at Lancers in Burbank. On rainy days I used to like to get a window seat at DuPars in Studio City and watch it rain while I ate a grilled cheese sandwich, chicken noodle soup, fries, and a side of ham. But since they closed I figured Lancers is the next best thing. Edi and I got a great seat by the window and ate our comfort food while we chatted. Delicious! Then I went across the street to Foam Mart to pick up some supplies and it started pouring rain really hard! I ran with my purchases to my car and threw them in quickly. I headed to Plastic Depot to pick up some buttons I had made for my “Heartbeeps” jacket (worn by Andy Kaufman in the movie of the same name), and then I dropped the eBay package off at the post office. I went home to do some auditions, grab a short nap, and then I got up later to do some work around the house. I paid some bills, did some bookkeeping, scanned checks for a deposit, sent out my movie night invites, and hit the hay.

Thursday the 7th – MONSOON MOVES ON! – Mid-afternoon I packed up yet another eBay sale and put my walking shoes on to head out for a nice afternoon stroll. The rain had stopped and it was a gorgeous day. My first stop was the post office to drop off the package, then over to the bank to drop off my deposits, I stopped by CVS to pick up a few supplies, got a cigar at the cigar store, picked up some vitamins, dropped by the hardware store to pick up a few items there, and headed home. What a wonderful walk (about 2 miles total) and an incredible day! I napped in the evening, and then got up to do my nightly auditions. I started writing on a new project, and when it was done, recorded it in my system. I made some spaghetti and started in on watching the “I Dream of Jeannie” season 4 episodes.

Friday the 8th – MAIDS, MAGNETS & MUNCHIES! – Shortly after 1 I got up to let my maids in to clean Planet Wallywood. When they finished I drove over to Fast Signs to pick up some new signage I created for a display in the collection. But the sign had two very visible dents in it, so I refused to take it. I asked them to double check their work in the future so I didn’t have to run all the way over there again to receive damaged merchandise. (Some people just don’t take any pride in their work!) I got some lunch at Arby’s, then I went to the craft store to look at some magnets I needed for my “Heartbeeps” buttons. I picked up some groceries, and then headed home to put them away. I grabbed a short nap, got up later for some work around the house, went over to Denny’s to get some food to go, and came home to eat my dinner and watch a few more “I Dream of Jeannie” episodes.

Saturday the 9th – CHATTER-DAY! – For lunch I walked Roxy down to a local café to meet up with my business associate and pal Joe Garner for a chat. We had a fun afternoon and the weather was delightful. Roxy and I walked over to the hardware store and ran in to my pal Bill Farmer; voice of Goofy and Pluto for Disney. I had just seen him last weekend at the Vegas Toycon. I headed home and started prepping for movie night. We watched a classic from 1996 called “My Fellow Americans.” I had forgotten how funny that movie was. When everyone left I grabbed a short nap on the couch until about 3am. When I got up I made the horrible realization that it was now 4am because of that idiotic Daylight Saving Time. (There oughtta be a law against that!) So I spent an hour going through my house resetting every clock. I hate wasting my time for pointless, useless and purposeless reasons like that. I did a little more work around the house, then I got ready to hit the hay, know that I had one less hour in my day.

Sunday the 10th – SCREWED UP SUNDAY! – I awoke around 4:30, which was actually 3:30, for evening church. I wasn’t much in the mood to take Roxy so I drove over and met up with my ‘adopted grandma’ Shirley. After the service I asked her where she wanted to go for dinner. She said Denny’s, so we headed over to the nearest location. But there was a line of about 7 people waiting to get seated. And we waited. And waited. And waited. I asked Roger the manager if they were short-handed and he said they were. I figured if it was taking that long just to get seated, the meal service was going to be REALLY bad. So we went to Paty’s instead. When we finished I took Shirley back to her place, and then came home to relax and grab a short nap. I got up later to do auditions, do some writing of a proposal, edit some video, and then because of stupid Daylight Saving Time the night before, I made my traditional Saturday Night Super Salad on Sunday night, and watched an old episode of “SNL” with guest host Richard Dreyfuss. Hilarious!

And how was your week??!!
