RANDOM PIC OF THE WEEK

As Christmas rapidly approaches, I flashed back in my mind to Christmas Eve of 2019…when a chicken roosted on my head. I still laugh about it today. I’ve never had that happen before, or since!

Any time “State of Grace” from keyboardist Jeff Lorber comes up on my iPod it puts me in such a smooth groove. I love it!

Monday the 7th – RAINY DAYS AND MONDAYS (WELL, YOU KNOW THE REST) – It was the first of two big rain days expected here in L.A. and I was loving the vibe. I worked around the house all day while it rained, and because I had the Gran Torino I didn’t drive anywhere. I don’t like to drive it on rainy days because most people are horrible drivers. I fear that some speedster will skid on the slick street and crash into me. So, I stayed inside. It was very pleasant, though. Just working around the house with the pets and doing auditions. It was a very sweet, relaxing day.

Tuesday the 8th – RAINY DAYS AND TUESDAYS??? – The second big storm system moved in and the rain was quite heavy at times. I just stayed inside and worked on the computer doing a manual back-up of some of my files. I took a short break, a little nap while it poured outside, and got back to doing my manual back-up later in the evening.

Wednesday the 9th – CHRISTOWEEN PROGRESS! – With all the storm systems now gone from the area, it was a perfect day to have lunch on the patio at Patys! I met with a member of a very famous TV producing/writing family and showed him the Christoween concept. We share a hair stylist and she suggested we get together and meet about the property. I brought him a lot of info about the stories and he absolutely loved the concept! He said it was very well developed, compared to a lot of the pitches he sees. So, fingers crossed that we’re able to gain some traction for the concept. I stopped by the post office to drop off some packages, hit CVS to pick up some supplies, and then got back home. The new pastor from our church (our former pastor passed away over a year ago) reached out to me and requested a lunch meeting so he could tap my brain about resurrecting the evening rock & roll service. This was great news, as I’ve really been missing that service. We’ll meet next week and share ideas. I worked around the house, did some writing, posted some social media materials about Christoween, and napped in the Puppet Room for a bit. I stayed up all night working, and it was REALLY cold outside! Roxy seemed to be doing much better on her walks, and perhaps it’s due to this Nerve & Muscle formula I have her on. I’m not sure, but she almost seems like a different dog in a lot of ways. I recorded an audition, made some tomato soup and a barbecue and watched another episode of “The Lone Ranger.” One of the things I love about this show is spotting all of the “future stars” who were just simple day players back then. The guest star in one of the episodes I saw tonight was Count Yorga himself…a VERY young Robert Quarry!

Thursday the 10th – RENJI RETURN! – Since 2022 is almost over (HARD to believe!) I wanted to get by my mechanic’s to pick up the new 2023 calendars they release every year. Both my dad and I love the car-laden calendars they produce every year, so I stopped over and picked a few up. I’ll keep some, and send a few to my dad. I also asked their thoughts about a new midsize SUV that I’m considering buying. They didn’t have good thoughts about the one I inquired about, so they kind of changed my mind about looking into alternate models. I need to retire the Mustang and designate it as “classic” status and park it next to the Torino in the auxiliary garage. But I’d like something a little bigger so I can pack some things up if need be when traveling around. I hit Roundtable to pick up a pizza for lunch, and then headed over to Studiopolis to record some more lines for another “Bleach” episode as Renji Abarai. It’s so great that this series has been revived again for this new story arc. I drove the Torino over to the auxiliary garage and swapped it out for the Mustang. Then I got home to do some work around the house, did some more writing, and edited together the Christoween Aspiring Voice Actor video for the week. Each week on Christoween.net I post a snippet from the chapter that I released that week. I invite all aspiring Voice Actors to give their best read and submit it to me. Then I edit the submissions together to showcase them to the world. It’s been really fun!

Friday the 11th – PASSING OF THE DARK KNIGHT! – The first news I received was about the passing of Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman for nearly 30 years. For the full story of my remembrances of Kevin please visit a new page on my website I created HERE. Since it was Veteran’s Day I called my 103 year old WWII vet pal “Bazooka” Joe and wished him a nice day. I also gave my dad a call and did the same. The maids came over and cleaned Planet Wallywood and did a bang-up job! Then I drove over to KFC to get some lunch, and headed over to Alex In Wonderland’s studio in Burbank to talk about upcoming projects. She had a big project get held over, so her schedule won’t be clear to finish my projects until the last week of November. I’m so glad they’re swamped with jobs, as it was pretty bad for them (as it was with everybody) in 2020. I got back home to do some work, and later I drove to Denny’s to get some food and watch a few more episodes of “The Lone Ranger.”

Saturday the 12th – COLOR AND CAMEO! – Since I was due for a touch-up on my color I walked over to my stylist’s and got that and a trim. I got back home and my pal Sabrina came over so we could go have a sumptuous dinner at Bob’s Big Boy. Then I got home and grabbed a nap, and got up later to record a Cameo for a “Tiger and Bunny” fan. I posted the new stuff for the week on my Christoween.net page (which I called Christoweek!) and made my traditional Saturday Night Super Saint Salad and watched an episode of “The Saint!” Only one more episode in black and white, and then I get into the seasons with the episodes in color!

Sunday the 13th – PREP FOR THE NEW WEEK! – As part of the Aspiring Voice Actor event that I feature on my Christoween website each week, I do a random drawing for a free t-shirt. I draw from the group of names of those who submitted takes. Once the winner was determined, I figured I’d better go down to the garage, dig out my Christoween storage bin, and do a current count of all of the merchandise I have left in stock. I also dug out one of the books to donate to a good cause for the holidays. A young horror fan I know likes to get authors to donate books so he can give them to the kids at Children’s Hospital in L.A.! I thought it was a great cause so I dug out a “Christoween Capers; Frankie-fied!” book and I’ll drop it off at the donation site this coming week. The coming week was going to be VERY busy, with meetings, a guest in town, another “Bleach” session, an on-line signing, and a two-day anime convention appearance next weekend in Pasadena. Since it’s the calm before the storm, I relaxed and rested up.

And how was YOUR week??!!
