With all the rainy weather and my busy schedule, I have been unable to get on my bike as much as I would like. I got home and sat down to pay my taxes. It wasn’t pretty this year! And to think that most of my hard earned money goes to a government who spends foolishly and recklessly really steams me! But enough about that. I drove to “The Tonight Show” in my Mustang with the top down and it was lovely! The band on the show was called Augustana. There is a college in my hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota named Augustana, and I was wondering if there was any connection. Wikipedia said that the band started at a college in Greenville, Illinois. One of the college sports teams that would visit their campus often was Augustana from Sioux Falls! So apparently the guys WERE influenced by the college from Sioux Falls! Wow! The lovely Neve Campbell was a guest that day, and I’ve always liked her. I went upstairs to do some stuff in “TTS” production office and the fire alarm went off! Some burner under some food fell over in the conference room and started a fire! Luckily it was quickly contained and no one was hurt. But the fire alarm did interrupt the taping of the show. I’m just glad everybody was alright! I got home and found 5 male ducks swimming in the pool. I spotted a guy on the other side of the pool taking pics and it ended up being my old pal Eric Schwartz from the old Premiere Radio comedy days! We talked for awhile and caught up on what we’ve been doing. It was a perfectly warm evening to catch a quick nap, so I did just that. My pal Brittney came over later that night for a visit. The perfect end to a great, but busy and eventful day!

Tuesday the 5th – SAD START TO THE DAY! – I was awakened in the middle of the night by my dog Sassie. She’s a 12 year old collie. The week before she had a #2 accident in her bed during the night. I heard her panting heavily and when I got up I noticed another #2 accident in her bed. I guess from now on if she doesn’t do #2 outside that afternoon or evening, she’s going to have to go down to her house in the garage. I felt very bad for her since I know she hates not being in my bedroom with me during the night, and as she gets older it’s only going to get worse. In the morning I went to Voice Trax West to continue another session for the IVR session I’ve been doing (Interactive Voice Response) for a company that’s retooling their phone system. I’ll be the voice of the system in the summer, but in the meantime there’s tens of thousands of lines to record for the system. My sinuses were starting to give me trouble again during the session, so I broke out my Sinex nasal spray and continued on. The sinus infection I have been dealing with is mostly gone (the headaches are gone for sure!) but there’s still some residual sinus stuffiness from time to time. I went to “TTS” for the taping, and then met with my pals Sara and Edi at DuPar’s for dinner.

Wednesday the 6th – WILD WEDNESDAY! – Well, the news has been released by now, so I feel safe talking about it here. I’ll be returning as The Riddler in the upcoming videogame “Batman: Arkham City.” Photos of The Riddler have been released in promotional materials for the game. Today was the final session, not only for the game, but for The Riddler. There was some extra stuff that had been written by the writers for my character so today was the day we picked up those lines. It’s always fun working with Voice Director Collette Sunderman. We finished a four hour session in just over three hours. So I took the opportunity to visit with my friend James, who works on the Warner lot. He grabbed a golf cart and we visited the Warner store. I found about 6 women’s t-shirts with The Riddler on them. I grabbed them fast! On the back it said “Riddle Me This!” I’m sending one to Collette, and the rest will go to Wally’s Dollies. I almost wish the shirts came in men’s sizes! I headed home to do some work, and then headed in to “TTS” to do a comedy bit. I had a few minutes before the taping started so I went to Weinerschnitzel to grab a bite. I got back to NBC and started the taping. Carrie Underwood was on the show and wasn’t supposed to sing, but during the commercial break Rickey Minor and the band played “Jesus Take The Wheel,” a song I had just heard in church a few days earlier! Carrie walked over to the bandstand and grabbed the mic and started singing. The crowd went nuts! It was amazing and she really knocked it out of the park! What a great moment! I got home from work and took a short nap. Then my contractor Terry came over and we put the new bases on the feet of my new mannequins in The Chaney Room. My pal Edi also came over to supervise. The room renovations is darn near completed and I can’t wait to start showing you photos!

Thursday the 7th – AN OLD PAL! – Terry came over in the morning to finish up his work in The Chaney Room. I had to take off for the IVR job, but my stomach was growling so much it was ruining takes! You could actually hear it on the microphone! So I went downstairs to the italian restaurant and got some pasta and marina sauce to go. I nibbled on that during the session so the stomach would stop complaining. After the session I got home to meet with Terry, as he was just finishing up. I did a quick comedy session for “TTS” and e-mailed it in. I took Sassie out to the grassy area to go to the bathroom. She did a #1 and then turned around to go inside. I turned her back to the grass and told her to finish. She stood there for awhile doing nothing, then went back inside. I was running late for a meeting so I took her in. No sooner did she get inside than she did #2 on the carpet again! What is it with this dog? Couldn’t she have done this outside? I gave her lots of chances! I cleaned it up hastily, put her in her house downstairs and headed to Bob’s Big Boy to meet up with an old pal. When I was in Junior High my best pal was Jon Horning. We loved watching Laurel and Hardy films on TV, James Bond, Star Trek, but most of all…COMICS! Unfortunately Jon died suddenly and unexpectedly about five years ago. But his brother Tony was coming to L.A. for a taping of the Ellen show with his wife, so I wanted to meet up and say hi. I hadn’t seen Tony since he was 10 years old back in the 70’s. We had fun catching up and chatting, but time was running out. I had to get to NBC for the taping. Gary Busey was on the show and he was really a hoot. It was amazing to watch him in action. He’s unique, I’ll give him that! But “The Buddy Holly Story” and “Carny” are two of my favorite films! I got home after the taping and checked out Terry’s work on The Chaney Room. I put up the photos and curtains and dressed it up. Tony and his wife would be coming over later for the tour and I wanted it to look nice. I drove over to get my pal Sara, and then picked up Tony and his wife Amy at their hotel. We went to dinner at Ernie’s Taco House and then it was off to my house for the tour. It was fun reminiscing about the fun we had as kids, and talking about Jon and all the great times we had. I drove them back to their hotel and then back to my house. I was EXHAUSTED!

Friday the 8th – IT NEVER ENDS! – You know I like to sleep in some days, but this week I wasn’t able to sleep in one single day! I was really tired! I was so glad it was Friday. I started off by getting on my bike early in the morning and driving over to Studiopolis to do the new “Bleach” videogame. I was booked for two hours but we finished in one. I got back on my bike and though it looked warm outside, it was COLD! I pulled my hood up and rode my bike to Subway to get a sandwich to go. I got home, ate it and took a quick nap before my IVR session. I got up and went to Voice Trax West for the session. Normally the sessions are 3 hours, but on Friday’s they’re only 2 hours. Which is good because the material you have to record for a phone system like this is QUITE tedious and tiring. But we blazed on through like professionals and got ‘er done! I was really running on fumes and was looking forward to the weekend. I got home to walk Sassie, then off to NBC to meet up with a gal named Pam who runs Paul Michael Glaser’s website. I’ve been a fan of Paul’s since I was a teenager, and I had some ideas for him, his upcoming novel and his website. I haven’t ever met him and have been trying to for a long time. I hope I finally get to meet him soon. As I was heading out I got a call from my chiropractor’s office asking where I was. I HAD TOTALLY FORGOTTEN ABOUT MY APPOINTMENT! Oh no! I hate doing that, but I was being pulled in so many ways I completely spaced it off! I got to NBC and met up with Pam. She had a great time at the show, and afterwards we went to my house for the tour of Planet Wallywood, and then off to Jerry’s Famous Deli for dinner. We also met up with my friend Kelli Maroney, Sara and my friend Amanda, who had just driven in from Moreno Valley. What fun! Later we met up with my pal Georgette too. It was a pleasant end to a VERY busy week!

Saturday the 9th – MONSTERPALOOZA! – I had been waiting for this weekend to roll around so I could attend Monsterpalooza. Lots of fun folks were going to be there. I took Sara and Amanda to the show. I had heard from my friend Nick, who was already there, that the parking was difficult. Luckily we found decent parking, but it was a few minute wait to get in. It was already packed inside and it was only about 1:00! We had a great time. I saw my friends Dan Roebuck, Shawn Sheridan, Ron Chaney, Pat Jankiewicz, and an old pal named Mike Tullberg from the old Premiere Comedy Network days. (WOW! Two Premiere alumni in one week!) Though there was a lot of people there, it was a great time with lots to see! We left to go eat a late lunch, and when we left we passed a line of people waiting to get into the show that extended down along the side of the building, and around the corner! Talk about great timing! Thank God we came when we did! After a delicious lunch at Denny’s we headed to get some groceries, then home. I had put Sassie in her house in the garage in case she had to go #2. I opened the garage door and backed in. When we got inside we definitely could tell she had gone #2, but we couldn’t find it! I had a sudden shudder of fear. Was it under the car? Had I run over it? Sure enough my left tires had driven right through it. So Amanda and Sara put the groceries away while I moved the car out of the garage and began the clean-up process. I vowed to inspect the floor more closely next time I left the house with Sassie in the garage. I went inside to clean up the rest of the house for our regular Saturday night movie night. We watched “Mars Attacks!” on Blu Ray, and “Drop Dead Gorgeous.” It was a fun, funny night!

Sunday the 10th – SHOULD WE GO…??? NAAAAWWW! – Though we had planned on trying to get back to Monsterpalooza today, it was just too fun to sleep in. After the week I had I really needed it! I got up in the afternoon, walked Sassie, checked e-mail and went back to bed. I didn’t get up again until a half hour before evening church. After that I went to dinner with Amanda, Sara, and my friends Chris and Colleen. We went for burgers at The Counter. MMM!!! When I got home I got my mail ready for the new week, and wrote Wally’s Week. I fed Sassie and got ready for bed. It’s going to be ANOTHER busy week, but in a few weeks, I’ll be on vacation in Palm Springs. The countdown was on!!

And how was YOUR week??!!!

Pics from the Week

King Kong looms over the convention floor at Monsterpalooza ’11!

In the museum, we found a great little display.
