I got to audition for several characters, including the Green Goblin! Keep your fingers crossed! After the audition, I stopped home to do a few things, and then I went to Studiopolis Burbank to do an hour’s worth of voicework on the “Blue Dragon” anime series. My pal Jeff Nimoy has just taken over as director, so he’s going to be calling me in for a lot of characters. That night I met up with my pal Chuck McCann and Jerry Jackson, the director of my church’s radio play “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Jerry had asked me if I would be able to sub for a castmember who had to miss a few performances due to an out of town trip. I said my schedule was too zany, but I thought Chuck might be perfect for it! So we met up that night and the guys exchanged numbers. It sounds like Chuck will be doing opening weekend! Fantastic! That night I threw on my jogging clothes and took a nice two mile jog!

Tuesday the 9th – TV TUNING! – My friend Mark Ackerman came by to tweak my TV system. In early August, he reconnected my brand new LCD TV, after my old big screen Mitsubishi fried out on me. There were still a few bugs I wanted him to address, so he did that. Then my buddy Deverill Weekes came by with his friend Sean from the U.K. to take a tour of Planet Wallywood. Sean runs a lot of conventions over in the U.K. and it was great hearing all his stories. That night I met up with Chuck McCann and the gang at Bob’s Big Boy for our usual Tuesday night meeting.

Wednesday the 10th – GIG, GOOLIES & GO GO GO! – In the morning I went to Voice Trax West to do another session for the Wheaton Franciscan Heart Center. I had done some TV spots for them before, and today’s session was some updates for those spots. Then I rushed home to get on eBay. A seller was selling an old Halloween mask of Bonepart, the Groovie Goolies character. I have all the other Goolie masks…but I didn’t have that one, and it’s fairly rare to find. I won it and it’s on its way to me! WOO HOO! I made some phone calls later that afternoon and ran some errands. Then I went to evening church, met with the President of our homeowner’s association to let her borrow my digital projector for our upcoming meeting, and then I took another two mile jog.

Thursday the 11th – PATRIOT’S DAY! – Today was a much needed day off. I just ran a few small errands and hung out around the house doing some stuff. It was a nice, slow, enjoyable day.

Friday the 12th – ROAD TRIP! – In the morning, my pal and webmaster Scott Sebring came by It’s a Wrap to meet up with me. It was the first day this store who specialized in selling old movie and TV wardrobe were displaying all of their costumes for the Halloween season. I picked up a few things, but Scott showed up with a set of purple tights and a tunic with a skull screen printed on them. I thought they looked a lot like the costume Billy Zane used in the 1996 movie “The Phantom.” So I told him to find all of those he could and to grab them. I told him what he didn’t buy, I would. We ended up with…Scott: 2 tunics and one pair of tights. Me: 4 tunics and one pair of tights. We started to realize that these really were from the production as they had the Paramount tag on them and matched photos of the movie we found on-line perfectly! Then we ran into Hollywood so I could audition at Elaine Craig for the St. Louis Zoo. It was a group read, and since some of the actors didn’t show up, I ended up reading four different times! That’ll increase my chances! Then Scott and I were off to Century City. I was meeting with my attorney Jay Kenoff about some entertainment deals I have going. The first place we went to eat in the Century City Shopping Center wouldn’t let me in because my shirt was sleeveless. I apologized and told him it was one of my “work shirts.” I wear sleeveless shirts when I do voice-over because of sleeve noise on the microphone. So the second restaurant we went to had the same posting. So we went to Pink Taco and had a great Mexican lunch. Afterwards we stopped by the Beverly Hills It’s a Wrap store to check out what they had for Halloween. They had a lot of costumes from “Dancing with the Stars” but not much else. I bought a few shirts though. But nothing like the wonderful find we discovered that morning in Burbank. Then we headed back to the valley so I could do a promo for “Naruto.” But the traffic on a Friday afternoon to the valley was impossible. I ended up being a half hour late! So they just postponed the session until Monday. I felt horrible! That night I was feeling a little tired so I turned in early.

Saturday the 13th – CHURCH DAY 1! – I had to be up early to attend the monthly elder’s meeting at church. Then I went to Naimie’s in Sherman Oaks and bought some make-up items in anticipation of this year’s Halloween season. I then went home and took a nap, but got up in time to go to my pal Deverill Weekes’ screening of a film he did with his girlfriend Juliet Landau. It was a great piece and I’m glad I went. Then I went home and relaxed and did some stuff around the house. After all, I had to be up early the next day for…

Sunday the 14th – CHURCH DAY 2! – Every once in awhile, as an elder, I need to do my duties at the Sunday morning service. It was pure fate that I had to be up early BOTH days of the weekend, but I figured I’d do it for God…BUT NOBODY ELSE! Only God could get me out of bed early two weekend days in a row! But it was a good time and I had a lot of nice conversations with people. Then I met up with a new friend named Elisa for lunch at Jerry’s Famous Deli. She had some questions about voice-over, so she bought me lunch to pick my brain. Then I got a quick nap before my friends Joe and Zandra came down from Lompoc to go to evening church with me. Joe and Zandra brought their daughters Andria and Katie, and their babies, and their husbands James and Joey. It was fun having all of them at the service. After that, we all walked down to the local cafe with my dog Sassie and we had dinner on the patio. What a great time. Then we met up with Chuck McCann at Menchie’s, a new frozen yogurt store in Sherman Oaks. Then they headed back up home, and I went home to do about 6 auditions. When that was finished, I started in on my “monster wall.” I have some monster figures on display, and Joe was kind enough to cut a wall to go behind them. I’m putting a faux stone facing on the board to make it look like a castle wall. So I couldn’t wait. Though I was tired, I started gluing on the facing. I let one side dry overnight, and I’ll do the other side tomorrow night. What fun!

And how was YOUR week??!!

[6

post-51","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-wallysweek
["GET
