I was starting to get another whopper of a sinus headache. The residual effects from that sinus infection I developed on New Year’s Eve just isn’t letting go. It’s probably a lot lengthier than it needs to be given my horrible history with bad allergies. So I took a pill and took a nap until midnight. When I got up I did my auditions, typed out Wally’s Week, and then fed and walked Roxy on our late-night stroll through the neighborhood. It was a cool, quiet, misty night. The rain had subsided for now. I made a pizza when I got back and watched another episode of “Lost in Space” from the third season Blu Ray set. It was another REALLY awful episode. I’ll be glad when I’m done with this set and have moved on to my next show.

Tuesday the 7th – LOST ANOTHER ONE! – My agent called and had me record an audition for the “Ellen” show around 1:30. My pal Troy Thomas, whom I used to work with at “The Tonight Show,” had done a very funny fake Grammy promo. I did a little work around the house, did a few more last-minute auditions and then went on-line to check the news. Then I learned that Richard Hatch from “Battlestar Galactica” passed away from pancreatic cancer. My assistant Sara was a friend of his and she had told me a few weeks ago that he was sick. I had met him a few times and he was a truly nice guy. Sad. Sara took it very hard. I did some work on the computer and got an e-mail from my agent saying that a session for an NBC show that I was supposed to do for an NBC show was being postponed until the following week. Sara and I drove to Lancers for dinner and enjoyed the misty evening. I went back home to nap, and then got up and paid bills, organized some files and then hit the hay.

Wednesday the 8th – ROXY REPEAT! – I woke up at noon and did a few auditions before I drove to Santa Monica for a session at Eleven Sound. I got over on the west-side a little early so I could shop at a giant JoAnn’s fabrics before the session. But when I got there it was a ghost town. CLOSED! I found out later that they’re bulldozing that entire block and putting up new housing. Rats! So I killed time by stopping by Wendy’s and getting lunch and eating in my car. I called my friend Carol Riggins whom I had gotten my dog Roxy from back in 2012. Back on January 7th Roxy developed some bleeding from her “girly parts” and I sped home from Palm Springs to get her to the vet. They thought it was an infection and they gave her some anti-biotics and within a week it was gone. End of story. Or so I thought. EXACTLY 30 days later, on February 7th it returned. So I called Carol to get some advice. I went inside to Eleven Sound to do the quick one-hour session which was a blast. Then I got on the road and headed back home. When I got there I fed the pets and put Roxy in the car for a 6pm appointment at the vet’s office. They still have no idea what is causing the bleeding, but they took a full blood panel so they could rule out certain conditions. I came home to do my auditions, and then I napped a bit. I got up and cleaned out my dusty entertainment center (YUCK!) which was on my list of things to do over the Christmas/New Year’s break. But because I was laid low by flu and bronchitis, I didn’t get it done. It sure was dirty! I sent out my movie night invites and made some hot dogs on the grill outside. I walked to my auxiliary garage, unlocked the Torino and sped off to enjoy the day. I stopped at McDonald’s for some lunch, grabbed my packages at my mailbox, went to AAA to see about a license plate issue I had a question about, and then went to Rocket Fizz to buy some candy. (Rocket Fizz is a vintage candy and soda store in Burbank that I LOVE!) And then it was BANG! ZOOM! VAROOM in my Gran Torino, as I drove to the Bang! Zoom! studios for another 3 hours’ worth of work on the “super-secret” project. I picked up some groceries on the way home and then stopped by my house to unload them. I drove the Torino back to my auxiliary garage and locked her up tight. Roxy’s vet had called earlier in the day and said her blood panel was perfectly normal. So we decided to bring her in next week to be “scoped.” Think of it as like a colonoscopy, but up a different way. I really want to know what’s going on in there and why she’s bleeding periodically. My pal Brittney Powell came over to do some work in Planet Wallywood, and then I grabbed a short nap. I got up later to do some more auditions, and then I made spaghetti and watched more “Barnaby Jones.”

Friday the 10th – RAINY, LAZY, HAZY! – After a mere 3 hours of sleep, I got up at noon and let the maids in so they could start cleaning Planet Wallywood. After they left I had planned on running errands, but the sky had started clouding over and it started pouring rain. Given that my errands could wait a few days, I gave myself permission to stay in all day and relax. You’ve just GOTTA do that from time to time. It was nice relaxing with the pets on the bed, watching, smelling and listening to it pour rain outside; knowing that I didn’t need to be anywhere for anything. I napped off and on until it was time to feed the pets. Roxy was still bleeding and it’s a full-time job to try and stay ahead of it and keep her clean. After their dinner I went back to sleep from 7 to 9. Then I goofed around the house until Sara suggested getting some soup at Jerry’s Famous Deli. It was the perfect night for it. I got back home and did my auditions for Monday. I had an early session to be at Monday morning, so instead of doing my auditions Sunday night, I opted to get them out of the way now. I fed and walked Roxy, and then headed over to Denny’s to get some food to go that I could eat while watching another “Barnaby Jones” episode. Since I had only eaten soup at Jerry’s earlier, I was pretty hungry by later in the evening!

Saturday the 11th – SUDA-DEAD! – At noon I arose and walked Roxy. I spent the day goofing around the house, sending e-mails, and lounging around. Since the sinus infection started on January I’ve been on Sudafed to keep my sinuses clear almost the entire time. In fact, when I first got sick with bronchitis on December 14th, I’ve been on some sort of medication almost the entire time; be it anti-biotics, pain pills, Mucinex, Sudafed, or whatever. I’m ready for this all to be over so I can have a major detox! I’m SICK of it! And even though the sinus infection itself is LONG gone, the residual effects are lingering. My sinuses will inflame and not allow me to breathe through my nose. I guess it takes a while for them to settle down after an infection like this, but this is ridiculous! Sara and I went to get some groceries for movie night and then returned to ready Planet Wallywood for guests. We watched an old favorite from the 80’s called “Dreamscape,” which had just recently been released on Blu Ray. GREAT MOVIE! But after the movie a few of the guys sat around chatting, and I passed out on the couch for about an hour. Which sucks because I wanted to enjoy the conversation. But I think while the Sudafed says “non drowsy” on the box, it must have some sort of stimulant in it to counteract the natural sleep-inducing qualities of pseudoephedrine. And when that stimulant wears off BAM! Instant crash. I’m looking forward to getting all these meds out of my system someday soon! After everyone left I made my traditional Saturday Night Super Salad and watched another episode of the old BBC series from the 70’s “The New Avengers.” I only have a few more episodes left, but I think my Saturday late-night viewing will turn to the old TV show “Hee Haw” when “New Avengers” is over. I used to LOVE watching that show with my family. I have about 8 episodes on DVD, but there’s a boxed set with 14 discs in it that I may get if I decide I like it.

Sunday the 12th – RESTLESS ROX! – Getting some good quality sleep today was tough because Roxy was being very restless.
