Since my buddy and webmaster Scott Sebring got to meet three of the Osmonds, a
group he worshipped as a kid, I've been humming their hit "One Bad Apple." I
used to love this song as a kid, as well as "Crazy Horses." It was fun getting
to see Scott realize a dream. Now, so you can have it stuck in your mind too,
here are the Osmonds with "One Bad Apple."
Monday the 15th - HAPPY
PRESIDENT'S DAY! Since the industry was shut down there was really
nothing going on today. So I just relaxed around the house.
Tuesday the 16th - TIRED ON
TUESDAY! - Whenever I have a three day weekend, my nocturnal nature
returns. It comes from working years upon years in radio as the overnight DJ.
When I worked at KELO AM in Sioux Falls, I would work 12 midnight to 6am. When I
worked at the Wave in the 90's, I worked from 2am - 5:30am. It was great because
it appealed to my natural nocturnism and I had my days totally free. When I was
in high school, I would return from school in the afternoon, take a nap in the
evening, work on homework in the middle of the night, sleep a little again, and
then go to school. So it's been going on with me for awhile. Well, the hard part
of that is, whenever I have a series of gigs in the daytime after a three day
weekend, it's hard to shake off the nocturnism. Today was no exception. I was up
early to do a session for my friends at Avera hospital and Southeast Missouri
Hospital at Voice Trax West. When I finished that I got some breakfast at
McDonald's, then hightailed it over to Margarita Mix in Hollywood to reprise a
role of a character I started doing back in the late 90's. The company who hired
me all those years ago had me come back to do the same character for a new
release of a game they have. I can't mention what it is until the official
announcement, but when it's released at E3 this spring, I'll be able to tell
you. But it was fun! I finished the session at 1pm, and then went home to catch
a quick nap.. When I got up I went over to Floyd's Barbershop and got a cut and
color from my stylist Andi. When I was finished with that I headed home and
napped some more. I didn't' have any bookings for Wednesday, Thursday or Friday
(it sometimes happens in this business...and you just go with the flow and enjoy
it) so I knew I could stay up all night, work on stuff around the house and goof
off. The thing I really wanted to focus on was finishing my Batcave display with
my Adam West mannequin. I needed to fill the gaps between the cave wall panels
with putty, then stain the putty in two different colors to match the color of
the cave panels. Then I touched them up with some paint with a dry brush. This
happened over the course of several nights, as I would let the putty dry
completely. Then put on a light coat of stain, and let it dry. The next night I
put on the darker stain, but didn't let it completely saturate. That way
sections of the lighter stain would show through and give it a multi-color
scheme. That night I also did auditions and sent them to my agents.
Wednesday the 17th -
RELAXATION! - Ahhhh...I stayed up all the night before working on the
Batcave, listening to the radio and then watching "Hawaii Five-O" on DVD. I
slept late today, and when I awoke, I worked some more on the Batcave. That
night I enjoyed a leisurely dinner with Sara and my pal Chuck McCann at
Barone's...my favorite Italian restaurant!
Thursday the 18th - BACK TO
THE BATCAVE! - I continued working on the Batcave in the afternoon. It
was almost complete and ready to hang the rest of the Bat-props. That afternoon
it started to sprinkle a little bit, as I went to my mailbox to check the mail,
then to the post office to mail off some things, and then to Kalmenson and
Kalmenson to do an audition. When I finished I went to the bank to deposit some
checks, and then did some shopping at It's a Wrap. I found a couple of cool new
shirts. That night I worked on the Batcave some more, and finished it up by
hanging the appropriate Bat-props and assembling the rest of the display.

What do you think? The display is interactive. There's a speaker that plays the
Batman theme at the press of a button, and another button will cast a spotlight
on Adam West's face. The head on the mannequin is Adam West's actual face cast
that we took of him back in 1995. Make-up artist David Miller took the positive
and "de-aged" it a little so it looked more like he looked as Batman in the 60's
and 70's. It's a fun display and it sure looks cool standing in its very own
Batcave!
Friday the 19th - ANOTHER DAY
OF FUN! - I had another day off with nowhere to be, and it sure was nice.
Knowing that the next week was going to be VERY busy, I enjoyed as much downtime
as possible. My buddy Bruce Kulick finally decided to get into Blu Ray. Sara,
Bruce and I went to Best Buy and got him set up with cables and a new Blu Ray
player. His first Blu Ray purchase??? "The Wizard of Oz!" Good choice! His
girlfriend is a big Judy Garland fan, and knows the film well. We got back to
his place and commenced to setting it up. Scott and Vickie Sebring were in the
area, so they stopped by to help with the hook-up. My friend Georgette came over
as well and when the deed was done, we all went out for dinner at Jerry's Famous
Deli in Studio City. What a great day!
Saturday the 20th - AW SHOOT!
- My maids arrived around 1 to clean Planet Wallywood, and after they
left I picked up my friend Sara to go shooting. I hadn't been shooting in
awhile, and it showed. I shot like a beginner! I brought my .380 Beretta
Cheetah, my .45 automatic, and my .38 snubnose revolver. I started out doing
alright with the revolver, but as time went on I having difficulty hitting the
places on the target I wanted to hit. I guess if you don't shoot regularly you
really do lose it! I experimented with different finger positions on the
trigger, but nothing helped. Sara was doing great though...with all 3 guns. When
we finished we had dinner at the Coral Cafe in Burbank, and then headed back to
my house. My friend Emily was coming over, as was Georgette, so we could all go
out "clubbing" as the girls call it. It was a fun evening and we stayed out
waaaaay too late! When we were done we went to Denny's to get some food. And
even though we were all very tired, we stayed up until 5am telling ghost
stories! Georgette had to leave for home in the dark of night, but Emily was
nervous about leaving so she curled up in the Puppet Room and stayed there for
the night. Me? I went to bed without a second thought and slept VERY well!
Sunday the 21st - SLEEPY
SUNDAY! - My friend and contractor Terry and his wife Linda woke me up
mid-afternoon to do some work around the house. I was still fairly sleepy from
being up all night Saturday night. He did a few things while Emily watched "Star
Trek 4" on Blu Ray. I had forgotten how great that movie is. It was getting
close to time for evening church, but when I got out of the shower I just had no
ambition whatsoever. So I decided to stay in and watch the rest of the movie
with Emily. After she left I napped on the couch for awhile. When I awoke, I had
a message from Sara about dinner. So we met up with Chuck McCann at DuPar's for
a late dinner. When I got home I did a TON of auditions in my home studio and
e-mailed them to my agent, did some more stuff around the house, and got
prepared for a VERY busy week! I'm glad I had some downtime when I did, because
if this week goes the way I think it's going to go...I will have needed it!
And how was YOUR week??!!!
