Monday the 13th
- HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY! -
Not much was going on since it was a
quasi-holiday. So I mostly spent the day around the house getting
my costumes all catalogued and labeled, putting away random things,
and cleaning up various areas around Planet Wallywood. Nice relaxing
holiday overall.
Tuesday the 14th
- GARFIELD INSANITY! -
Another great day of Garfield goodness! We
started at 10am at Buzzy's recording in Hollywood. It was a lot of
fun, as always, working with Frank, Gregg, Jason and the rest of the
cast and guests. We enjoyed delicious Bar-B-Q for lunch, and it was
a successful day of recording 6 Garfield episodes. That evening I
took a nap, and then got up to jog three miles.
Wednesday the 15th
- AUDITIONS/DVDS/DEBATES -
My buddy Scott Sebring came by and we went
over to Voicecasters in Burbank so I could audition for a project.
Then we took a drive to Wendy's for lunch, and then went to Best Buy
so I could pick up some DVDs. Of the new DVDs on my list, they only
had one. I'm really starting to see why the internet is killing
business in the stores. Lack of selection, lack of service, and an
overall cavalier attitude about customer service. They looked and
looked for "Bleach; Memories of Nobody" and couldn't find even one
copy! Even though their computer said they had 14 in stock. Like I
said, it's no surprise that the internet is killing storefront
business. So even though I only bought the new Indiana Jones movie
on DVD, "Chaplin" and "Bleach; Memories of Nobody" were internet
purchases. From now on, I may just save the gas and buy everything I
want on the internet. Sheesh. That night I got home to listen to
the debate (which I'm sorry I did). I couldn't believe that I missed
evening church to listen to these two clowns go back and forth with
their insanity and drivel. One guy's a stuffed suit with no
experience who wants to "spread the wealth around", and the other
guy's a temperamental lunatic with no vision. HELP!!! I went to
meet my buddy Chuck McCann for a slice of pie, and then I took
another jog. I tried to make it the entire two miles, but I guess
my legs were still a little too sore from the previous night's jog,
so I had to walk a few blocks.
Thursday the 16th
- WORK WORK WORK! -
I went to Voice Trax West in the afternoon to do a session for Go To
Meeting.com, and then headed home to record some auditions in my
home studio. The rest of the day was spent hanging around Planet
Wallywood, continuing my huge clean-up effort.
Friday the 17th
- GUNS AND GORMITI! -
In the morning I went to Studiopolis Burbank
to do another episode of "Gormiti", and then I went over to the Bank
of America to complain about their stupid new ATMs. (See the fiasco
I endured in the previous week's
Wally's Week HERE).
I was told I could get a key to the Night Depository. I asked about
the logic of changing their ATMs which actually made life more
INCONVENIENT for their customers. But, none of those numbskulls
listened or cared, so I walked out even more frustrated than when I
walked in. And we wonder why this country's in trouble. After a
quick once-around It's a Wrap, I headed home to pack up my gun and
head to the range for some target shooting. As I mentioned a few
weeks ago, I bought a new Walther PPK automatic pistol, and I was
finally going to get some hands-on training. The guy who trained me
was Sid Flynn, who came highly recommended by a friend of mine. Sid
took me through all of the dynamics of loading, cocking, aiming the
gun. We had a great time, and I blew through about 100 rounds of
target loads. I sure learned a lot! I went to the range with a
buddy of mine who had never fired a gun before. He was amazed, and
somewhat humbled by the experience. My first day with my new
Walther was pretty successful. Check out my target!
That night I proudly took my
target to dinner with Chuck McCann and my friend Cher. That night I
took a two mile jog, but my right calf muscle was hurting so much I
had to walk part of the way. Gotta do more stretching!
Saturday the 18th
- LEISURE DAY! -
I spent the entire day doing nothing but resting. The maids came by
for a little while, and then I started in on my Halloween costume. I
bought a cool belt at It's a Wrap, so I wanted to put silver metal
studs on it to give it a rock and roll look. My costume is a
combination of Lon Chaney's Vampire and Alice Cooper. The coat I'm
using came from "Charmed," the shirt I'm wearing was Sebastian
Bach's chainmail top from the old Skid Row days, and the pants I'm
wearing came from "Scorpion King 2." So it's a mish-mosh of all
different types of things. It should be cool once it's all put
together. But I had a great time just hanging around the house all
night, relaxing, working on my costume, and watching "Mission
Impossible" on DVD.
Sunday the 19th
- VISITORS AND CHURCH -
I slept fairly late in the day, and my friends
Joe and Zandra, along with their daughter Andria and granddaughter
Audrey, all joined me for evening church. I also met up with my
friend Terry as well. When we all met at my house later, I gave
Terry a robot Elvis head. Joe and Zandra had found one for sale
close to where they live and they picked it up for him. Terry was
amazed. I knew he had always liked mine, but he never thought he'd
get his own. Then we all went to Little Toni's for dinner, and met
up with my friend Cher. For dessert, we met with Chuck McCann at
DuPar's for some delicious pie.
And how was YOUR week??!!
