Many people have asked how Wally dramatically changes
his appearance to become his new character Uncle
Davver. Here are 9 easy steps that turn Wally from
average guy, to "The Sheik of the Shriek!"

Step 1) Similar to his make-up for Lon Chaney's
"London After Midnight" vampire, Wally uses a special
porous tape called Blenderm to pull down his lower
eyelids. He has created special pre-cut pieces that
resemble the shape of eye-bags.

Step 2) Once the lower eyelids are pulled down and
secured into place, the same is done to pull up the
nose into a skeletal-like image. Again, special
pre-cut pieces of Blenderm are used to secure the nose
into place. The Blenderm is attached between the
nostrils so the nose can be pulled up and secured at
the bridge of the nose between the eyebrows. Believe
it or not, neither this eyelid nor the nose technique
is painful. It can get mildly uncomfortable over
time, but it hurts more to take it off than it does to
secure the Blenderm pieces.

Step 3) A sky blue Joe Blasco cream base is applied
over the entire face, except for the ears and the eye
sockets. Normally the ears would be covered too, but
for this particular photo session the ears would not
be seen because the coverage provided by the wig. The
Blenderm pieces take to the make-up very well.

Step 4) The eye socket areas are filled in with purple cream.

Step 5) Also with purple cream, the shading lines are
brushed on. This includes the forehead lines, the
cheekbone lines, the length of the nose, smile lines,
brow lines, and temple area. Also, the nostrils are
painted into a pointy, skull-like shape with black
cream. A highlight under the lower eyelid is applied
with sky blue cream, and the edges of the eye
socketsare blended out.

Step 6) The purple shading lines are now blended out with a sponge.

Step 7) The eyebrows and sideburns are painted green
with a cream base, the lips are painted purple, and
the entire face is powdered down to set the make-up.

Step 8) The trademark Uncle Davver "flavor saver"
goatee is secured into place using a special silicone-
based adhesive called Telesis. The goatee is a custom
hand-tied appliance, where green Yak hair is
individually tied onto a piece of toupee lace. This
allows the same piece to be reused countless times.

Step 9) Uncle Davver's green dreadlocks or "deadlocks"
are added. It's a pre-styled wig that attaches to
Wally's own hair with several wig clips that are sewn
into the inner band of the wig. The upper set of
prosthetic teeth are added as well, and the lower
teeth are colored with nicotine-stain tinted tooth
enamel. Then the costume is added, and Uncle Davver
is loaded into his cardboard refrigerator box so he
can haunt whatever hapless souls come his way. (Note
the Lon Chaney Phantom of the Opera cuff links,
Wally's subliminal nod to the "Man of 1000 Faces.")
