Since
Georgie is a redhead, and hardly sees the light
of day, a very light base is applied.
Two
different colors of freckles (brown and reddish)
are first applied with a stipple brush. Then larger,
more prominent freckles are dotted on with a
fine-point brush.
The
entire make-up base is powdered with a
transluscent powder, and then brushed off after the
make-up has set.
Next,
a special powder combination is brushed on the
brows to turn Wally's brown eyebrows to red. The
brows are then covered with a special sealer.
In
order to give Georgie bushier eyebrows than
Wally's, he combs them backwards to fluff them up.
This is a technique that Wally first developed when
doing his Andy Kaufman characterization.
Now,
the wig is placed on and clamped into place.
There are wig clips sewn inside the wig to correspond
with the position of the pincurls in Wally's hair.
Wally
had a custom set of upper and lower dentures
made to give Georgie nubby, crooked, yellow stained
teeth. The lowers are slightly accentuated to give
Georgie an underbite, but the majority of that effect
will be done by Wally simply jutting his lower jaw
forward.
To
give Georgie that "wandering eye" look, a specially
constructed contact lens is inserted into his left
eye. The contact lens reproduced Wally's eyes
perfectly, except that it's printed on the lens
slightly off-center. This will upset the symmetry of
Wally's eyes and achieve a creepy effect. Since the
lens covers the majority of Wally's left eye and is
off-center in relation to his own, he is completely
unable to see out of it.
A
pair of red pants, and a too-tight knit shirt is
added to complete the effect.
