Wally took his sophomore and junior years at Aberdeen Central High in Aberdeen, South Dakota in 1976 through 1978. He was inducted into the Aberdeen Central Hall of Fame in an induction ceremony in early October. Now word has come down that Wally is being inducted into the Washington High School Hall of Distinction in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A job transfer in Wally’s family occurred in 1978 made it necessary for him to leave Aberdeen and take his senior year at Washington High in Sioux Falls from 1978 to 1979.
It’s a thrill for Wally to be inducted in the same company of Dave “Captain 11” Dedrick, a local kid’s show host whose show Wally never missed as a child. And David Soul, HUTCH from “Starsky & Hutch!”

It sat dormant in a closet for those two decades until a keen-eyed collector spotted it on eBay and snapped it up! Scarecrow fans had been waiting for Disney to release this film for a long time! All sorts of technical upgrades have been made to this film to make it look and sound amazing, and BOTH versions are on the DVD. Wally was honored when DVD producer Stan Deneroff asked if they could use his replica Scarecrow costume as set dressing for the Leonard Malton wrap-around segments on the DVD! In addition, Wally put Stan in contact with George Patterson, one of the former members of The Wellingtons, the quartet who sang the “Scarecrow” theme song.
