WALLY'S FRIEND NEAL HEFTI
A few years ago Wally struck up a friendship
with legendary TV and movie composer Neal Hefti. Sadly, Neal passed away on
October 11, 2008 at his home in Toluca Lake. Here's a photo of Neal at the
Larry Storch 85th Birthday Party that Wally helped throw in Studio City, CA in
February of '08. The photo was loaned to Wikipedia for Neal's page, and as a
result was loaned to NBC news for a report on Neal's passing

"The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh"
Now on DVD!
One of Wally's favorite Disney films has FINALLY come out on DVD! "The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh", also known as "Dr. Syn Alias the Scarecrow" was seen on TV as a 3 part mini-series in the 60's, and as a feature film in theatres (hence the two different titles). Scarecrow fans have been waiting for Disney to release this film for a long time, and now it's a reality! All sorts of technical upgrades have been made to this film to make it look and sound amazing, and BOTH versions will be on the DVD. Wally was honored when DVD producer Stan Deneroff asked if they could use his replica Scarecrow costume as set dressing for the Leonard Malton wrap-around segments on the DVD! In addition, Wally put Stan in contact with George Patterson, one of the former members of The Wellingtons, the quartet who sang the "Scarecrow" theme song. George's interview is on the DVD bonus materials as well! (George is a fellow Elder at the church Wally attends!) GORMITI'S MAGMION VOICED BY WALLY!
The incredibly popular European toy line 'Gormiti' is being turned into a new animated series! And one of the baddest of the bad guys will be voiced by Wally! Magmion, the Lord of the Lava Gormiti, Mr. Tripp, Ike Pinkney, and other characters will be performed by Wally in this terrific new animated series which should start to surface in early 2009! DARK SHADOWS FESTIVAL 2008
Wally was in attendance at the 2008 Dark Shadows Festival in Burbank, California over the weekend of July 18-20. He was lucky enough to realize a life-long dream and get a photo with Jonathan Frid, Barnabas Collins himself! The Festival was a wonderful time and he is looking forward to the one next year.
