On Thanksgiving evening, my pal and webmaster Scott Sebring had to be rushed to the emergency room with a pending health issue. He stayed in the hospital for about a week, so I certainly wasn’t about to burden him with posting any new material on my website. So Wally’s Week wasn’t updated last week.
So, because you’ve been extra nice, please enjoy TWO editions of Wally’s Week!

RANDOM PIC OF THE WEEK

IT’S FINALLY HERE!  As you’ll read, the arduous sojourn of my custom artwork from Patrick Owsley was extremely frustrating.  The postal service took 11 days to send this a mere 10 miles.  But I’m glad it finally arrived, and I’m VERY impressed.  It’ll look great in Planet Wallywood!

As I continue to enjoy the Christmas music on DirecTV channel 801 during my relaxation times, I’ve fallen in love with the music of Beegie Adair.  His style of piano playing really speaks to me, and all of his Christmas tunes are quickly becoming must-listen-to material every holiday season.  This version of “It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas” always puts a smile on my face, and a warm tingle down my spine.

Monday the 21st – PERFECT ANIMAL! – The day started with a call from the son-in-law of my “adopted grandma” Shirley.  He said that she’s still in the hospital (she choked on a piece of food at their dinner the previous night and had to receive the Heimlich maneuver) but was doing much better.  She might be in the hospital a few more days.  I prepped for an on-camera audition in Hollywood, so I picked out a nice pair of jeans, a nice button-down shirt and a cool turquoise velvet sport jacket.  The audition was for a TV commercial that shows a Voice-Over artist at a recording session. I think I can handle this.  I hadn’t gone in for the initial audition, but the producers saw something else that I had done and called me in for this “callback aucition.”  It went very well and it was actually pretty fun.  It’s not my world, but it’s always fun to dabble in that area when necessary.  Since I was in the Hollywood area I took full advantage and went to Arby’s to get some lunch.  I swung by my mailbox to pick up my packages, and then I went to HMS Props to pick up my Animal Muppet replica.  The lever in his head that works his eyebrow mechanism was too short for my index finger, and my finger kept slipping off when I would manipulate it.  So Mike had to cut open his head in the back, extend the lever, and then stitch his head back up.  The lever was perfect, and the scar was barely noticeable underneath all of Animal’s wild red hair.  I took him home and put him back in his case.  The custom plastic case looked so sad and forlorn when it was empty. But now Animal is home and all is well.  I put away my packages and did some work.  My pal Brittney Powell came over to do some work, and after she left I took a dip in the Jacuzzi and grabbed a short nap.  When I got up I recorded an audition and made a pizza so I could watch a few episodes of “The Monkees” before bed.  Julie Newmar was in the episode and was fabulous!  Plus, this episode served as the debut for one of my favorite Monkees songs, “The Girl I Knew Somewhere.”  I LOVE this show!

Tuesday the 22nd – 3-D VIEWATORIUM! – Grandma Shirley left me a message on my cell phone, which I received when I woke up.  She didn’t sound very good at all.  I got a bit worried. But she said her family was taking good care of her and she would be staying at their house for the Thanksgiving weekend.   Hopefully she takes it easy.  She was being discharged from the hospital so she wanted to call me and give me the update.  I had a last-minute audition to do, and while I was recording, Brandon, the tech from Visions A/V came over to work on installing and programming a new 3D Blu Ray player for my new 3D Viewatorium.  When I initially bought the 3D version of “Wizard of Oz” on 3D Blu Ray I had to buy a good used 3D TV and have it installed in The Puppet Room, where my guests stay when they’re here.  The player I had was an older, portable player that would play “Oz” just fine, but some of the newer 3D films would screw it up. There was something about the new 3D technology it didn’t like.  So Brandon brought over a brand new Samsung player and installed it, and it works like a charm!  I also talked to him about getting a Region Free player for my downstairs and upstairs entertainment systems, since I occasionally like to watch materials from other countries that aren’t available here in the US.  When he left I went off to Mr. Stitch to pick up my embroidery order; my name embroidered on some fabric that I’m going to incorporate into my new “Star Trek” bowling shirts I’m having made.  I picked up a few grocery items and then headed home to feed the pets.  I went over to Jerry’s Famous Deli to meet up with my friend Natalie Duran.  Then I came home to nap on the couch for a bit.  All my auditions had been taken care of earlier in the day while I waited around for Brandon to finish his work upstairs, so I had nothing to do all night but some work around the house.  Earlier in the day at the store I picked up some goulash (macaroni and beef), pumpkin pie and Cool Whip, so I made a wonderful meal and watched the final two episodes of “The Monkees” before bed.

Wednesday the 23rd – AN A”MACY”ING EXPERIENCE! – I had intended to head to my seamstress Karyn’s to drop off the fabrics for my new “Star Trek” bowling shirts, but I didn’t hear back from her.  It’s a bit of a trek to get to her studio, so I wanted confirmation that she would be there before I made the trip.  Being the day before Thanksgiving I wasn’t sure she was working.  But since I didn’t hear back right way I just worked around the house for a bit, and then headed to the bank to make a deposit.  I had intended to ride my bike but it was far too windy.  My allergies would have rebelled something fierce!  By the time Karyn got back to me it was too late in the day, as the pre-Thanksgiving traffic snarls on the freeways had already begun.  When I finished at the bank I went to get a prescription at CVS (speaking of allergies) and then I hit the post office to mail some bills.  I grabbed some fast lunch at McDonalds and sat in my car in the parking lot and ate it while listening to the radio.  The stores are CRAMMED with people hustling around with bags full of food.  When I got home my old friend Amy came over with a box of collectible glass tumblers with famous cartoon characters on them.  A friend of hers’ had passed away and he was quite the collector.  Anything in his collection that she thinks I’d like she brings over.  The tumblers were in great shape!  She also gave me a wooden Pinocchio statue.  It wasn’t the Disney version, but it was cool nonetheless.  I gave him a good cleaning with warm water and a soft cloth.  His arms had sunk because the elastic keeping them secured to his body had stretched out.  So I glued them in place and secured them with a rubber band until the glue dried.  His white collar had also gotten chipped quite badly, so I got out my paint and gave him a new white collar.  I sat down with my “Star Trek” fabric and laid out how I wanted my new bowling shirts to look.  I think these shirts will be amazing!  Then I went downstairs into my garage and found a small box that would work for a 3D glasses box that I could keep in my 3D Viewatorium.  I didn’t want them just lying around haphazardly, so I made a cool little container box and covered it with shiny, laser etched mylar.  Then I turned my attentions to Animal in his protective case.  I had to figure out how to properly mount his arm rods inside the case so it would fit inside without making him look strange.  Some Velcro took care of that nicely.  Then it was time to turn the TV to NBC to watch “The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 90th Celebration.”  I did the narration on it, and the program turned out wonderfully!  My sisters and I never missed the parade as kids, and now to be a small part of that legendary franchise thrilled me beyond belief!  Plus it was cool to be back on NBC again, but this time in Primetime!  I went upstairs to the 3D Viewatorium and watched selected scenes from the old 80’s 3D movie “Metalstorm; The Destruction of Jared Syn.”  I remember it was pretty cool as a kid, but now I found myself fast-forwarding through a lot of the scenes.  When imagery came up that looked like it would be cool in 3D I stopped to check it out.  I kept on working all evening until about 3am, and I got pretty tired. I had been going all day!  I had been looking forward to making food and watching TV before bed.  Since I had finished “The Monkees,” the next show on the docket was the fourth season of “Barnaby Jones.”  But I was so tired I just knew I wouldn’t make it through the show.  So I made a little food and napped on the couch until 6am.  I got up, took care of the pets and then got cleaned up and went to bed around 7am.

Thursday the 24th – HAPPY THANKSGIVING! – After 5 hours of sleep I got up at noon and lounged around in bed with the pets until 1.  It was a gorgeous day and Roxy and I enjoyed our walk through the complex.  We stayed outside chatting with a few neighbors.  Then I came back inside to talk on the phone with my computer guy Brian about why my computer back-up wasn’t working. Even though it was Thanksgiving he was happy to help through a program called Team Viewer; which allows him to remote into my computer and see what’s wrong.  I answered some texts and e-mails and ate a Pop Tart to take the edge off until dinner at 5.  Once again, the gang and I were planning on going to The Sportsmen’s Lodge to partake of their delicious Thanksgiving Day buffet.  I got cleaned up and headed to the Sportsmen’s.  As always, the food was amazing and the group was fun.  After dinner we went back to my house to watch movies (as is our tradition after Thanksgiving) but my pal Scott Sebring wasn’t feeling too well.  He went upstairs to the Puppet Room and 3D Viewatorium to lie down.  It wasn’t something he ate, because he said he wasn’t feeling all that good at the beginning of the day.  About halfway through the evening his wife Vickie went up to get him and take him home. He wasn’t doing well at all.   When the guest left around midnight I cleaned up the house and napped for a bit.  I got up around 3 and fed and walked Roxy, and continued to do some work around the house.  I received a text from Vickie that she took Scott to the emergency room, as he had started feeling worse after he left.  I made a light dinner and watched a 2 part “Barnaby Joness” season four opener.  I didn’t get to sleep until noon on Friday.

Friday the 25th – BLACK FRY DAY! – It’s one of those days you just want to hide in bed while the world goes nuts.  Which is exactly what I did.  I didn’t get up until 4 in the afternoon.  I did a little work on the computer, and fed the pets.  My old pal Chris Malmin met me at the Coral Café for dinner. We were joined by my assistant Sara.  It was fun to chat and catch up.  He had been working on “General Hospital” as a villain and was telling us all about the experience.  When we finished I took Chris by the famous “Christmas House” in Burbank, knowing that it was probably back in full swing.  Unfortunately, though the lights were working, the accompanying music program that they broadcast on FM wasn’t.  So I’ll check back in a week or so to see if they’re back in business.  Chris and I went to my house and relaxed and chatted some more. I’ve known him since 1985 when we both lived in South Dakota.  Now he’s working on “General Hospital” and I’m narrating specials on NBC.  Dreams do come true.  Chris brought over an Elvis gospel special on VHS and it was a blast watching it.  It was nice to see a special that had nothing but positive Elvis stories for once.  After he left I grabbed a nap on the couch, and then got up to spend the night scanning my old photos.  It’s a project that will continue on for a few more weeks yet, as I have a LOT of photos!  My old photo albums from the 70’s and 80’s were decaying and needed to be placed in new albums.  But while they were out, I figured I would scan each of them before putting them in their new home.  That way I’ll have a digital version of every photo.  But it’s a long, tedious process. I’ve been doing some, and Sara has been doing some as well.  I made hot dogs on the grill to eat while watching “Barnaby Jones.”  And at 5:38am it happened! Each year, the single harbinger that alerts me to the official start of the Christmas season is when I hear “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams in a totally random setting.  Granted I was listening to Christmas music on the satellite so it wasn’t entirely random, but there it was!  Ringing in the season as it does every year.  It’s my favorite Christmas song that brings back all those great memories of being a kid at Christmas!

Saturday the 26th – WE’RE BOTH LOOKING FOR NUTS! – I pulled open the blinds of my bedroom when I awoke at 3pm and saw a beautiful rain-soaked landscape.  It had been raining all afternoon!  I needed to go to the hardware store to get a specific bolt, washer and nut to repair a chair I used for my guests for movie night.  It was pointed out to me on Thanksgiving that a rivet that held two of the chair’s legs together allowing it to swivel and compress had fallen out.  It looked rather dangerous so I just figured I’d dump the chair.  But once I started looking at it, I thought of a way to repair it and make it good as new.  After all, it was Grandma Shirley’s favorite chair to sit in at movie night.  I had a bolt that was the perfect size, but it was 3” long, and I only needed one 2” long.  Then I needed a nut cap to cap off the end of the bolt so nobody would get snagged on the protruding end of the bolt.  I figured it would be fun to grab my “Star Wars” umbrella and walk in the rain to the hardware store. I could get some exercise and enjoy the crisp, fall air.  But though it was cloudy, the rain was pretty much all done.  Just my luck.  Plus, when I got to the hardware store, they didn’t have that particular bolt in the 2” variety.  So they just cut the 3” bolt I had and VOILA!  Instant perfect bolt!  But I did get a nut cap for it and 90 cents later I was on my way.  I walked to the corner store to get some tomatoes for my Saturday night salad, and then I headed home.  When I got home I heard from my artist friend Patrick Owsley that the post office had lost the art piece that I had commissioned from him.  He sent it on Tuesday from a location that’s 10 miles from my house. But leave it to the idiotic postal service, they lost it.  Luckily it was insured and had a tracking number, but it seemed to be stuck at some post office somewhere and it wasn’t moving.  We were monitoring it on their website and we couldn’t figure out why they just couldn’t deliver it already.  It was going everywhere else BUT where it should have!  I told him that’s the exact reason I don’t send anything of value through the post office any longer.  They’re a dinosaur waiting for a mercy killing.  UPS and Fed Ex are far more reliable for sending things of value.  But because they’re private companies there has to be some accountability.  The post office is inefficient because their structure doesn’t seem to have an accountability built into their business model. When’s the last time you ever heard of anyone at the post office getting fired?  So here’s my art piece, gallivanting across the country when it should have only taken a day to get here. Good grief!  My “little voice” must’ve suspected trouble, because I told Patrick to meet me halfway in Sherman Oaks and I’d get the art from him there. But he insisted on sending it.  So I guess we’ve learned another important lesson about the antiquated activities of our U.S. Postal  Service.  Buyer beware!  Could we put this antique out of its misery already?  I’ve always known they’re unreliable, but I think Patrick has now learned the hard lesson that I learned years ago.  Sara came over to clean up for movie night and then the guest arrived. It was fun to watch the Blu Ray of the old 80’s movie “Lost Boys.”  Fun movie.  After everyone left I took a quick nap, and then got up to do some organizing and labeling of the audio files in my personal log.  I make voice recordings of happenings in my life from time to time so my descendants will get a glimpse into what was going on in the world of their nutty ancestor in my own words.  I would love to have recordings of my grandparents to listen to, talking about events of their day.  But each file has to be labeled a certain way before it’s archived.  I also like to put the file in my editing program and cut out certain things like coughs, dead spaces, etc.  It’s time consuming, but worth it.  Then I made my traditional Saturday night salad and got ready to watch another episode of the old BBC show “The New Avengers.”  But just before I closed up my bedroom window to block out the dawning sun, my little squirrel friend Bucky walked up my sloped roof, looked in my window and  inquired about getting some nuts for breakfast.  He comes up to visit from time to time, but today I was ready for him with my camera!  He sure is cute!  It’s funny; we both spent the day looking for nuts, but a different kind.  He wanted peanuts, and I needed a cap nut.

Here’s a little video of Bucky looking for nuts

Sunday the 27th – NOVEMBRRRRR INTO DECEMBERRRRR!  – I now know why the two coldest months end in “BRRRR.”  It’s windy and cold!  I stayed under the confines of my heated blanket until 3 in the afternoon.  I did a little work, did some more labeling of my personal log recordings, and then got ready to walk Roxy over to evening church.  But I hadn’t layered up enough and had gotten quite chilled during our walk.  After a rain in Los Angeles, the next phase is wind and cold.  I got back home and turned on the fireplace and turned on my Christmas music on the satellite.  THIS JUST IN: SUMMER OFFICIALLY OVER!  Sara called and we met at Little Toni’s to get some food.  The wait staff there hadn’t heard about my buddy Fred Westbrook passing away, so I had the unfortunately job of informing them.  Little Toni’s was one of the places he frequented, and one of the servers told me she had seen him just a few months ago.  I guess he had gone in to get some food a few months before he died.  It was always the same order too: small pepperoni pizza extra well-done. I went back home and grabbed a nap.  The wind had gone down, but it was still chilly out.  Speaking of chilly, I made some chili and enjoyed another episode of “Barnaby Jones” before bed.

Monday the 28th – OH, THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS FRIGHTFUL! – A brand new week and a brand new day!  I got up at 10:30 and took Roxy to the groomer for a badly-needed bath.  I dropped her off on my way to Hollywood, as I was due at Patches Recording Studios at noon for a session for a drug company.  The session was less than an hour and was easy squeezy.  I stopped by Arby’s to get some lunch at the drive-thru, and then went to my mailbox to pick up some packages.  I picked up Roxy at the groomer and headed home to do some auditions. I found out from my pal Scott Sebring’s wife Vickie that he was going in for surgery, but it all went well and he was recuperating nicely.  I spent the afternoon relaxing and getting some work done.  In the evening, the wind starting kicking up something fierce! As the song says, “The weather outside is frightful. But the fire is so delightful.”  So I lit the fireplace, turned on Christmas music on the satellite, and I slept on the couch with double blankets. Nice and cozy dozy!  It’s what I’ve always called “Christmas Nappies.”  It was a term that started with my previous dog Sassie.  I got up later in the evening to do a ton of auditions, and then I laid back down on the couch just to meditate and reflect with my tranquil surroundings.  There’s nothing like it!  I fed and walked Roxy, and then made some hot beef stew and watched another “Barnaby Jones” episode.

Tuesday the 29th – SUPPLY RUN! – When I woke up at 2 I had both Roxy and Spooky up on the bed vying for attention. I did some two-handed pet-petting for about a half hour.  It’s fun to pet a dog with your left hand and a cat with your right. I’d really prefer no other way to be awakened. Except for…well…you know.  I got up to answer e-mails and voicemails.  Then I started typing Wally’s Week.  Because my webmaster was in the hospital there was no real rush to get it finished, but I figured it would give me a leg up next week when he was back.  My assistant Sara and I went to dinner at DuPar’s and when we were done and headed back to our cars, we noticed that it was really REALLY cold!  I sped off to Staples to get some supplies for the new year, which included a 2017 Day Planner.  Yikes!  It’s almost Two Thousand Seventeen!  Unbelievable!  Then I stopped by the grocery store to get some groceries.  I stopped by Floyd’s Barbershop to see my stylist and have my color touched up, and then I went home to put away the groceries and do some work.  It’s starting to get into the slow time of year in the industry.  It slowly starts to shut down around Thanksgiving, and doesn’t really crank back up again until after the first week of January.  I took some more “Christmas Nappies,” and then got up later to do some auditions.  I fed and walked Roxy, made a pizza and watched another episode of “Barnaby Jones.”

Wednesday the 30th – TO “BOWL”DLY GO…! – Just after noon I got up and headed to my seamstress Karyn’s studio to drop off the material for my “Star Trek” bowling shirts.  She said she’d have them turned around in a few weeks.  I went to Burger King for some lunch to go, and then stopped by my mailbox to get some packages.  I went home to do some work, answer a few e-mails, and then head over to Dr. Gene the Dermatologist.  I wanted to have four little things checked out and removed from my face.  Dr. Gene’s a friend of my buddy Bruce Kulick, and like Bruce and myself, is a HUGE Beatles fan.  We had a fun time talking about Beatles music as he sliced and diced.  He gave me a care kit to take with me and I headed home for Christmas Nappies.  Once again, I got up to do my auditions in my home studio and e-mail them into my agents.  I drove over to Denny’s to get some food to go, and then came back and fed and walked Roxy.  I reconciled a lot of my receipts in my corporate books, paid some bills, got a deposit prepared for the bank, and then got ready to close up shop for the night.  Just before I went to bed to watch another “Barnaby Jones” episode and enjoy my Denny’s food, I spent some time sitting in my bedroom window seat watching the sunrise behind a thick bank of heavy, gray clouds.  As the sun came up underneath them, it turned the underside of the clouds a striking pinkish-red color. Astounding!!

Thursday the 1st – GOING POSTAL! – A few weeks ago I had a piece of art commissioned from my pal Patrick Owsley.  He sent it the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and the post office said it would be in my hands the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.  After all, Patrick was only sending it from 10 miles away.  But the postal service’s internet tracking system said it had gotten lost the day after Thanksgiving.  I decided to try and get somebody on the phone to see where it was, why it was delayed, and how I could get it.  The website said the package was .5 miles from my house.  I wanted to see if I could just go over there and get it.  But the phone rang and rang and rang and nobody ever answered. (And the postal service wonders why they’re going bankrupt!)  I called the 800 number and after wading through a sea of annoying prompts, I was finally in line to talk to a real person. Hopefully this person could send some Morse code, or whatever antiquated way the postal service is communicating amongst themselves these days, and tell the branch to hold it for me.  Then the automated voice came on the line and said my wait time was between 20 and 30 minutes!  Unacceptable!  Could we please just put this dinosaur out of its misery already!?  What it needs is some good ol’ competition.  I drove over to Hollywood to meet up with my friend Emma to buy a painting she did of her rabbit Ichabod.  We had a fun lunch chatting, and then I went to her place to meet the model himself.  He’s a chill little guy, and petting him really is a soothing, tranquil experience.  I can see why people love rabbits.  I drove back to Planet Wallywood to feed my own tranquility-inducing pets, and then I sped off to Jerry’s Famous Deli to meet with Sara and my friend Natalie Duran.  I got back home to enjoy some Christmas Nappies, and then got up later to record my auditions.  I did a little work around the house, made some spaghetti and watched another “Barnaby Jones.”  I’ve seen the first three seasons of this show, and I haven’t seen a bad episode yet.  Amazing!

Friday the 2nd – LET IT BLOW, LET IT BLOW, LET IT BLOW! – After only 3 hours of sleep, I had to get up at noon to meet with Brandon from Visions A/V so he could install two new region-free 3D Blu Ray players in my bedroom, and downstairs home theatre.  While he worked the maids arrived and worked downstairs while Brandon finished upstairs.  I didn’t want them getting in each other’s way.  I had a last-minute audition to do, so I recorded it and sent it in.  I got an e-mail about a gig on Monday for a theme park ride.   I’d be doing the voice of a Mummy. Cool!  I did some work and then got a call from my pal Scott Sebring who was out of the hospital.  It’ll take him a while to get back at it completely, but he’s definitely on the mend!  I went to the bank to make a deposit, and then swung by my mailbox to get my packages. In my mail was the new Batman book I ordered. It looks amazing on first look!  I mailed off my bills, sent a letter certified, and then went to McDonald’s to get some quick lunch.  I got home in time to meet up with Jim Ojala and his assistant Amber.  They brought over the new Jack Lord mannequin Jim’s been working on for a while.  I bought a mannequin for the display with certain spatial limitations in mind, but once it arrived I realized that I had goofed. The mannequin was MUCH too small!  So now I need to order a taller mannequin, have the head transplanted and then reconfigure the display area in Planet Wallywood to accommodate it.  As Jim left I realized how incredibly windy it had gotten outside.  I turned on the fireplace and the Christmas music to settle in for a relaxing Friday night.  The song came on again “The weather outside is frightful.”  That it was.  “But the fire is so delightful.”  That it was. “Since we’ve no place to go.”  I didn’t. “Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.”  Oops…not hardly.  Three out of four isn’t bad.  But I laughed as I sang along to the music and changed the lyrics to fit my circumstance, “Let it blow, let it blow, let it blow!”  I buried myself under the blankets on the couch and nodded off for a while.  I got up later to feed and walk Roxy, and then work on my computer a bit.  I also started up on my scanning project again.  Over the past few months I’ve taken on the project of scanning old photos from the 70’s and 80’s photo albums in my collection. The albums themselves are decaying, and the photos need to be placed in new albums.  But while they’re out, I want to scan each one of them for posterity.  I’m doing some, and my assistant Sara is doing some as her schedule allows.  As I sat there in my kitchen in my impromptu scanning station that we set up, I looked up at the mannequin holding Jim Carrey’s Tony Clifton tuxedo jacket from “Man on the Moon.”  The headless, legless mannequin is all black, so the orange tuxedo jacket really stands out.  But it started to look odd to me with no shirt.  So even though the shirt and tie are not original from the film, I went to my closet and pulled out a blue, frilly tuxedo shirt, cuff links and black bow tie.  I dressed the mannequin with the shirt and tie, and put the jacket back on. It looked MUCH better!  Then I turned my attentions to “Little Jack,” what I had taken to calling my little Jack Lord mannequin.  I got on-line and shopped around for a taller mannequin for the display.  I found the same model of mannequin that I had bought, but it was about 4 inches taller. BINGO!  It’ll work perfectly.  If I have to reconfigure the display space to make it fit, I’ll do it.  It’ll be a fun project over the holidays.  Jack Lord was long and  lean, and the costume I own proves it. I could tell by sizing it up visually that his costume wasn’t going to fit on this small mannequin. The mannequin would SWIM in Jack’s suit.  Hopefully the new mannequin will work much better.  I hung up the painting of Ichabod in my Tranquility Zone.  The thing I really liked about it was that it was painted in my Tranquility Zone’s theme colors; blue, black and white.  It matched my décor perfectly.  Plus, the subject in the painting is itself conducive to tranquility.  I made soup and a sandwich and watched another “Barnaby Jones.”  The episode was set in Palm Springs, and it really made me miss my old hang out.  But oddly enough, the temps in the desert this time of year are even colder than they are in L.A.!  So I’ll wait a bit until it warms up out there.

Saturday the 3rd – THE EAGLE HAS LANDED! – By the time I got up at 4 in the afternoon, I had a message from my mailbox that the artwork had finally arrived!  I wouldn’t get there before they closed at 5, so I called Sara. She was driving around that area so I had her drive over and get it.  She brought it over later and then did some more scanning before movie night.  We had a fun evening watching “Along Came Polly” on Blu Ray.  When the guests left I napped on the couch, and then I got up to scan photos all night.  I made my traditional Saturday Night Super Salad and watch another episode of the old BBC series “The New Avengers.”  I didn’t actually end up getting to bed until noon on Sunday!

Sunday the 4th – SLEEPY SUNDAY! – My eyes shot open about 45 minutes before I was due at evening church. So I hastily fed the pets, showered, and walked Roxy over to the church for the service.  It was a pleasant time and it was good to see everyone again.  I walked home and checked e-mails, and then laid down on the couch for some Christmas Nappies.  I got up later and did a bunch of auditions, photographed my new cartoon artwork, walked and fed Roxy, made soup and a sandwich and watched another episode of “Barnaby Jones” before bed.

And how was YOUR week??!!

It's that time of year again (much to Roxy's chagrin), so I dug out the old reindeer antlers and made her pose for a picture. (She DID get a nice treat afterwards!)

What the heck is this? Of course...it's Black Fry Day!

What the heck is this? Of course…it’s Black Fry Day!

Though the mannequin is too short, the job Jim Ojala did on the head is amazing. The wig is placed on the head temporarily, but Sergio Lopez will come over soon and attach it permanently and trim it. Then he'll take the excess hair from the trim and make eyebrows and sideburns.
