The voice over sessions were different than most voice-over sessions. The director likes to direct the sessions like he's directing a movie, so we had a much bigger than usual studio to perform in. It allowed us to really accentuate the physicality of the characters we were playing to turn in a more dynamic performance. They supplied us with toy guns in the studio, so when we were performing action scenes, we could actually grip various props to feel our characters better. It's the first voice-over session I've ever done where we've used props. Props in V.O. sessions are tricky because they can add to the noise level if you're not careful. But it was nice to be able to take a voice performance to the next level with the use of props that would be found in an on-camera shoot. |
