With the Beetlejuice wig and costume in the
back, and reference photos hung on the mirror, Wally
prepares his make-up table with the elements he'll
need to become the "Ghost With The Most." He starts by
wetting back his hair into a ponytail.

The wig and bald piece are made in one piece.
This is exactly like the ones Wally used to use at
Universal in the "Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue." At
the edge of the latex bald piece, there is a strip of
ventilated lace, similar to that used in wig
construction. The 1/2" of lace at the edge of the
piece, is what keeps it in place on the head. So,
spirit gum is brushed on to the area of the forehead
where the lace will lay. The lace is also brushed
with a bit of spirit gum. The glue is allowed to air
dry somewhat to obtain tackiness, and then the lace is
fastened into place on the forehead and temples.

The excess spirit gum is blotted away with a
moist towelette, and the area is powdered to remove
any excess stickiness.

The excess powder is brushed away to prepare
for the make-up.

The entire area, neck, ears and face are
covered with a pale flesh cream make-up.

With black cream make-up, the eyebrows are
painted on with an arch to resemble Michael Keaton's.

With a dark purple cream, the eye sockets are
filled in.

The edges of the sockets are softened and
blended in with a sponge.

The beard stubble is added by applying dark
grey cream make-up with a stipple sponge.
The entire area is powdered with a neutral
powder to set the make-up.

The excess powder is brushed away.

An adhesive called Duo (mostly used for
attached fake eyelashes) is applied to the jaw and
neck areas on the right and left sides. There is also
a small area in the left corner of the mouth.

Ground up foam rubber (primarily used by
model train enthusiasts for landscaping their papier
mache hills) is pressed into the Duo for the
trademark, "mossy" look.

The hands and wrists are made-up with the
same pale flesh cream make-up. Then they're powdered.
A brown eyebrow pencil is used to make the fingernail
beds look dirty and grimy.

With a narrow brush, water-based "pancake"
make-up is added to give the hands a "mossy" look as
well.

The look is finalized with prosthetic
dentures. The bottom teeth will be stained with yellow
and black tooth enamel.
